That's not a bad idea... but again, that drives up your production costs. Most cables start at $50. And if you don't know who does and who doesn't have HD capability, you wouldn't want to provide that if your users don't need it... at that price anyways. :)

*GIGGLE* Gawd, I remember those days. Now it's work work work work 60 hours a week for 3 months to save. :) Things never do really change, do they?

I must admit that we do have great service from Cox. I hear it's one of the few places that does have really good support and service from them.... everywhere else I hear, it just blows. But they've done all kinds of stuff for me, including re-running all of my cable because it was so old, it wouldn't support the load I draw into my house. :P And I'm calling to bump up my bandwidth speeds!

For your son's gaming TV... I did see 27" plasma HD monitors for sale for $500.00. I think this was at Costco, actually. But I know they are coming down through the floor, and quick. I'm starting to save for our replacement, because mine is 2 years old, and it's burned in. (it's rear projection) We watch so much news, it's got the MSNBC logo burned in. I really want to get a DLP monitor, and I don't want it to be plasma, either. :) Give me the behemoths please!

Well then I hope Microsoft all the best. The add-on I was speaking of is cabling.

That'll teach me to RTFA, except I already have all this in last months' EGM. :P Um.... yeah, this is probably a true statement. The original XBox didn't offer it either. At first, I got extra cables from my Cable company to hook in the HD XBox.... but they weren't performing very well, so I did switch up to the Monster HD cables for it, which were like $40. I think that the reason that they don't provide this is because it would be prohibitively expensive just to add the HD cables. I had to hunt all over town to find them under $75. Most places charge an even $100 bucks for a set of High-def cables. This is a known issue with HDTVs, but they don't provide them with the purchase of the tele, either. So, it's basically been accepted that, like with stereo equipment, you gotta choose your own cables.

This is a good thing too, because there are ranges that you can choose from.... size, strength, combinations, etc. To include or not to include SVideo or fiber audio.... etc. It's just too hard to include the right cables for each individual set up. Though... I really wish they would make that clearer. :) We were lucky... even though I went in at opening on the day after Thanksgiving two years ago to plunk down my $1000 for a 52" HDTV... the salesperson took their time with me and explained *everything* that I needed to do. At Best Buy no less. They even set up our cable install right in the store. And they told us right then that cables were going to be our biggest expenditure. But Cox has been very generous and helped us get everything set up. :)

I personally don't believe that HD gaming is coming in a big way to the game market yet, but it is good to see Microsoft positioning itself to take advantage of the market when it comes. I guess we will have to see how the DVD wars sort themselves out, but having an HD-capable system now means at least on less add-on to convince consumers to buy later.

I don't know man... have you tried gaming in true high-definition? That was the whole reason I plunked down the money for an HD box, was so that I could better play games (I have eyesight issues). Not to mention, it's great for football. The first time I got my Xbox hooked up and popped in a true HD Game - MechAssault, Unreal Championship, Pariah, Metal Arms, all of these are in 1080i resolution - I about shat myself. And I've been gaming since I was 7 - Pong was my best friend! :P

Nothing could ever have prepared me for those first fire fights. High-Def gives you an extreme advantage over your non-HD players, because you can see things well enough to dodge, take out, hide, whatever. I can manipulate my characters between hails of machine gun fire and stay alive, and sneak up and kill the bastard, because I could see his muzzle flash. You can see the bits of metal and parts that go flying when you blow up your opponent/atmosphere, whatever. The Xbox graphics look good, but they are uncompared when viewed in 1080i. I think that's one of the reasons that Unreal remains a staple in our home, because it looks awesome, responds well, and has such great HD support. I don't know if this is true of all High-definition games. That's generally all we buy... it's gotta have 1080i support (at LEAST 720p), multi-player, and playable against each other.

I don't think HD gaming has taken off as well yet, because the Xbox has been the only supporter. Competition will be good in this arena! As for adding it on as an additional support mechanism.... I'm fairly sure it's part of the GPU that enables it, so it probably couldn't be an add-on.... just something that was either enabled or disabled. But I don't know.... With $500.00 Plasma HD TVs on the market this fall, this is poised to jump through the ceiling.

I'm definitely waiting until they work out the bugs this time. Which is going to be hard after seeing a Quake 4 demo for it last night! *Swooooooooon*

The other reason is that we are going to wait for the patches to be developed for our favorite games that are supported on the 360. Only 2 of them that we have ARE supported. My new XBox isn't even a full year old yet... I can wait a few months!

The other other reason is that Microsoft is going to be ramping up delivery of the boxes, rather than shipping all they have. It may be pretty tough to get one the first few weeks. Give them the time to flush out all the bugs in the process... probably save some money in the process... and you'll be a whole lot happier when you DO buy it. :)

It has been as real a spiritual way of life for hundreds of years, such as have Buddhism and Hinduism.

There is archaelogical evidence going back hundreds of millenia to support such very well understood Goddess Worship structures, and survived well into the first Millenia in forms of Greek and Roman Worship. In fact, the Romans preserved much of the Celtic Druidic Leadership to help control the areas as they moved into them and brought the lands under Roman rule. This is all very well documented and very much understood in museums and books around the world. And while the Druids performed sacrifice, it's well known that the only human sacrifices were those sentenced already to death by justice. It has been and always will be unlawful under the Wiccan Reed to cause harm to another. Those sentanced to death were dead already. This does not include other uses of human blood for ritualistic purposes, though that is greatly shunned today. The mass majority of sacrifices were the Goddess' own creatures as revered by the people. Besides, life was SUPER cheap back in that day. :)
