Ugh(l(y/ee). I hate those split keyboards. My small hands, with four/4 fingers and born with no thumbs, do not work with them. With non-split keyboards, I hate it when they move keys around like insert, home, page up and down, delete, and end keys to vertical layout. I think this was a new USB Lenovo keyboard I got last year. I gave it away IIRC since I kept pressing the wrong keys!! Also, give me clicky keyboards like Model M.
I agree, but you can make your own slipstreamed version. Or better, a net-install that have the latest updates for people with fast network connections.
Since some people don't want to leave XP and still want support, M$ should just charge very high prices to those users. Banks and other companies are rich. They can afford it. M$ would have another way/source to be rich!;)
My cities are like yours. DSL is too far (20+K ft.), Verizon doesn't service FIOS in the neighborhoods but does down the hills, 28800 speed with lots of line noises (since GTE days), etc. IDSL existed but 144 Kb/sec both ways for 100+ bucks a month? Cable rules in these areas though.:(
