It's not just video medias. Same for computer technologies. Others and I got sick of it. We'll just keep using the old stuff that still work, stable, cheaper, etc. For an example, I still use my decade old home built desktop PCs, OmniCube KVM from Y2K, inkjet printer from 2006, etc. I finally went HDTV from CRT TV in late 2014. When I was younger, I used to want the (new/lat)est stuff but things got buggy, costly, annoying, etc.:(
Did Norton products really change it as of 2014? That's dumb/lame. I remember telling to NOT automatically create rules and to ask me what to do first. I currently use PC Tools Firewall Plus v7.0 in my decade old, updated 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 PC.
This is why I stop upgrading softwares.I still use my decade old desktop PCs and softwares. They mostly work fine. I care not. I used to upgrade often for gaming, but I game rarely these days.
I remember Java was added to my undergraduate CS classes (introduction and fundamental) right after I completed them back in 1994 and 1995 when others and I were learning Pascal, C++, C, ASM, etc.
I prefer https://flickmetrix.com/ that uses ratings from all the popular web sites. However, it seems to be broken since it is missing some ratings from them at the moment.:(
