    Now if only they'd let us see how much bandwidth we've used. I don't want to run metering software on my 4 computers, nor do I want to reflash my router. As it is now I reboot the router at the beginning of the month and let it start tracking, and pray I don't have a power outage.

    The significance of SMM buried rootkits is that you can remove and shred the hard drive of your compromised machine, replace it with a new one, do a fresh install, and still be compromised.

    If you're the enterprising type, you can actually embed the PC application in the Cider "shell" and get it to run on a Mac. There are Mac ports of Portal, HalfLife 2, GTA IV, etc floating around that run in OS X.

    Just check TPB!

    Do they expect me to believe they can actually afford the ass load of music, movies and games they steal without a decent paying job if they even have a job?

    Who cares! If they couldn't have afforded the music/games/movies ANYWAY, then why does it matter? The developer/artist didn't lose any money because the "pirate" was broke in the first place.

    Or does it just bother you that people with no money get to experience something you paid money to experience? Artificial scarcity at it's finest.

    You really ended up purchasing lots of "small" apps for the Mac? I've found that Shareware in the Mac community blows away the Windows community by about x100. There are a TON of non-crippled apps for the Mac that are shareware, way more so then on Windows.

    Agreed. I attended both a public and private university in the US (IL and WI), and the campus cops were most certainly real cops. Guns, handcuffs, can arrest you, etc.

    Lies. If you work at a government agency (I have), you absolutely do not have Obama posters in anyone's cube. Hatch Act violation, and they're serious about that stuff. No campaign buttons, no bumperstickers, nothing.

    The Army was forced to apologize today after sending approximately 7,000 letters to family members of soldiers killed in Iraq or Afghanistan which mistakenly addressed them as "John Doe." The letters were sent late last month to inform survivors about private organizations "that offer gifts, programs and other assistance to families that have lost" soldiers. "Army Chief of Staff Gen. George W. Casey, Jr., was sending a personal letter to all the families who received the improperly addressed letters as the result of a printing error, the Army said."
