1. Backup your Mozilla profile, or at least copy it, before using the new one. You certainly may break extensions.
2. If you're on Windows, rename \Program Files\Mozilla Firefox to \Program Files\Mozilla Firefox.old or somesuch. That way you can revert. Your extensions are generally in the profile anyway. If you're on Linux, just keep the old files.
3. Upgrade to the nightly.
4. Open a new tab, type about:config search for app.extensions.version. Change it to 1.0 to avoid the extensions disabling themselves.
4a. Close and restart Firefox.
5. Give it a shot. If everything gets hosed (not likely, but possible - it has happened to me, though very rarely), you can backout and replace the executables and your profile data.
Uh-huh.. because hooking up an optical cable to the PS2's built in optical port is so damn hard.;)
Maybe not, but getting Dolby Digital out of a PS2 is. The handful of games that support DTS in game on the PS2 don't really have as good separation as the best sounding games on XBOX. And I'm sorry, but games that use Dolby Pro Logic II just don't cut it on surround sound comapred to the XBOX's Dolby Digital Support. As an owner of a GameCube, PS2, and XBOX I can definitely say the the XBOX provides the best aural experience.
I didn't say that they got rid of fiber, or maybe I didn't make myself clear. DWDM didn't cause anyone to get rid of fiber, it just means that there is a lot of UNUSED fiber. There is an enormous potential for bandwidth that was brought about by DWDM, but the expense is whats holding it back. The problem is that there will always be limited fund, thus limited bandwidth.
The main reason for a glut of dark fiber is not actually the dot-com bust, contrary to popular belief. The main reason is the use of Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM). This allows A LOT more data to be sent over the same pipe as before, thus rendering the majority of that fiber useless. Don't get me wrong, the dot-com bust had a MAJOR impact on the use of fiber, but it wasn't the main factor in the dark fiber glut.

Well, a high cost of entry for one. I don't know about you, but I can't exactly afford $27,000 for this device. If I could do you think I would be going to Blockbuster or getting DVDs in the mail from Netflix? Nope, I'd probably just buy every single DVD that I was remotely interested in, so I could watch it if I ever got the itch to. And that's exactly when a server like this is useful. I wouldn't have to get up an hunt around for the DVD in question I would just use my monster big screen to browse until I found it on the Kaleidescape server.
My take on this lawsuit can best be expressed in the words of Homer Simpson: "Of Course! Its so simple...wait no it isn't. Its needlessly complicated!"
I went to a Meijer in Lexington, KY on my lunch break to check it out. No Dice. Either they have already wised up, or it was just a mistake made by a few Meijer stores that got blown way out of proportion.
I wish there was "-1 Doesn't understand sarcasm" mod.
...since his page isn't showing up in the first, second, or even third page of a search for asbestos anyways.
Considering that EyeTV needs a dual G5 system to playback HD video, its unlikely.
