Yep, those liberals, they never support strict IP laws.

I hate it when broad brush generalities are used like this. It always seems like the distinction is being made to justify that the person making the statement belongs to the "correct" party. In the case of IP laws if you really want to show you want fewer of them your voter registration should be Libertarian....

But if the TV media (who the liberals always argue are unbiased) shows something as biased as this I have a huge problem with that. There is a definite bias in this film. The major networks claim to have no bias, and I believe that they have less bias than many conservatives think. But if a major network plays this movie, I will count them as having NO capability of having unbiased news reporting at all.

I sure hope those outside of the US (and in it as well) appreciate the fact that at most Bush's 'regime' will only last 4 more years, or just a few more months. Contast that with Cuba, Iraq, Libya, and many other countries where regimes last decades.

I do agree however that we need more than two parties and probably 4. The only way this will happen would be for a viable 3rd party to actually win the presidency, not just be competitive for it like Perot was. A party would build around that person and the other parties would hopefull fracture into factions after that.

This is truly a global war on terror, and while Michael Moore and you can debate how its going here, you won't have any say in what the Russians do, and I think it will be a very dramatic statement.

Oh and by the way, which rights should I be concerned about and from which party. I would respect your ranting more if you derided the whole of politics in america today instead of just going rah rah for your side. Clinton signed the DMCA, prominent republicans and democrats back the induce act, democrats favor taking more of my property (taxes), republicans favor social restrictions in government (which oh my, I don't, but I'm in flyover country so how can I not). Everybody voted for the patriot act.

The democrats are not the cure all, they're just a differnt set of things to lookout for.

As I said before we are dividing. I am beginning to believe that two things are likely to come of it. Either a fragmentation of the country into many different nations ala Europe (would take many many years, but could be set off by something as simple as one very large confrontation) or a total fragmenation of the political system with third parties gaining a toehold but not growing fast enough to replace one of the two parties. I think about 4-5 prominent political parties would be needed to pull the pure divisivness out of the political system.

The betamax decision forced the MPAA to be creative in how they marketed their product and they succeded big time. Now, their just to damn lasy to figure out how to make this internet thing work.

When they tried the betamax case they tried to label us all as potential criminals, then they managed to create a large market for real customers. They can do the same for digital/internet content, they just don't want too.

I already will no longer buy CDs, regardless of whether I file share or not. If the MPAA keeps at this I will stop buying DVDs (yes I admit I am hooked on buying DVDs). The results of their efforts to guaruntee their revenue stream from me will have the effect of eliminating it alltogether.
