    The problem isn't the price. As the article says, the GPLv3: "prohibits Apple from distributing a GPLv3-licensed iPhone application without supplying the signing keys necessary to make modified versions of the application run, too." In order to distrubute it on iTunes, Apple would have to give out the master key they use to sign the application. Can you see Apple doing that?

    Nope. It's easier than that. If I have a domain example.com, then I just need to point piratebay.example.com to the pirate bay. Then people can type in piratebay.example.com into their web browser and voilà, it's the pirate bay. This is advantagous because it means thousands of people all over the world can do it.

    There was something similar in the novel Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. There were large electro magnets in the door frames. When the cops came to carry the disks out of the office, they were wiped passing through the doors.

    PGP clearly deals with this. Think about message signing. You can see the plain text and the signature.

    Some nations, eg Ireland, use a much more complicated voting system called 'Proportial Representation' where you vote for many candidates in order of prefereces. People get struck off, votes get transfered, etc etc. It can actually take a day to count all the votes and do all the vote transfers

    I do. I work as a network engineer/web developer/a bot of everything for an ISP. We use Linux for all ISP stuff and I have only Ubuntu on my desktop. The only issues is I have to keep telling everyone to send spreadsheets as CSV, but they've learned to tolerate us techies by now. :)

    A friend of mine works in a popular video game store here in Ireland. A fews since the PS3 launch and they still have PS3s on the shelves. However they have been constantly sold out of wiis since it came out months ago. Any wii shipment is sold out the day it comes in.
