A guy I knew worked in a supermarket, they had to wear namebadges. Some guys would swap badges with some girls. So you'd have a guy wearing a namebadge that said 'Stephanie'. The customers' reactions were funny.
"What are Japanese patent laws? And what is the actual patent? No one knows either of these things. Japanese law may not have the "Non-obviousness" or "inventive step" clauses that America does"
If that was so, then the Japanese patent system would suck, and hence should be renovated.
Expression is worthless if noone else can hear it. I'm sure chinese people can express all thay want in the shower. However they can't express it from a newspaper or website. Allowing people to read any website means there is effictivly no censorship and everyone can express what they want.
Could chinese companies ignore Europe and USA and still make a profit? There are a billion people in China and technologically it's growing. Could there be enough of a market there?
They also promise a free PlayStation 2 if you accept Jesus as your saviour.
"If you've never heard of Jesus, He is an invisible cloud-dwelling deity (infinite lives!) who loves you very much and wants nothing more than to give you a free PlayStation 2!"
My thoughts exactly. Could you even create a stripped down version of Mozilla and make it not Firefox? If there are some features you wanted in new Mozlite, why not just add them to Firefox?
Open an email with images could alert spammers that you've read the email, hence spamming you more. So opening spam gets you more spam.
Images in the subject line mean opening your inbox will get you spammed more!

Xbox 2 for $400?

I read something interesting on the Wikipedia article on Software Piracy. Someone figures that piracy on games is god for consumers. Since you generally only want the one game and no other game will suffice (unlike MSOffice vs OpenOffice), then the existance of pirate games is the only competition to a game. So the price of games on platforms which have easy copying should be less than the price of games on hard to copy platforms. As you demonstrated.
1) Yes GMail is still invite only, but I think a person would be able to get one easily enough. And lots of people already have one. You don't have to pay to get it.
2) Lots of storage space is something new and different. When most people were giving about 5 MB, 1,024 MB was something new and different.
The problem is many people don't know that there is an alternative. They think all computers are like that, that it's just part of the way computers work.
The best thing to do is educate them, then tell them that you told them why not to run windows so it's their own fault.
The thing that made the entry of Google into the webmail market special was that they offered something completly new and different. It wasn't just like all the others. AOL would only have the effect if they did something similar.

Download The Incredibles
Get unlimited DVD quality movies!
Watch on your PC, burn to DVD/VCD
Should be easy to track down. Silly pirates.
"how the law deals with flea markets and swap meets where counterfeit goods are being sold"
I believe the argument there was that the owners of the swap meets would gain financially from the sale of counterfeit goods, since the more counterfeit goods there were on sale the more people visit the swap meet, thus it gets more popular, thus the owner can get more rent for it.
Or the cedega licence. Friend of mine used to dual boot. Cedega plays WoW for him, so he's ditching windows.

I agree. However most open source (not free software) types will tell you that because something is open source it's more likely to be better.

In terms of PlayStations per population it goes like this: 1 - Japan 2 - Ireland
It's a shame. Here in Ireland we have the second highest percentage of PlayStatiosn after Japan. We likes our games!

"Why is the HDD the 'best' feature of the XBox?" Cause it allows people to copy games earier!

Same here in Ireland. But I know someone who works in a game shop, so I get the advantage of a 30% staff discount. :)
Not to mention that here in Europe we have no DS. Long Held throne? On a device that we can't even buy?!
Friend of mine decieded to install Firefox on her fathers spyware infested Windows machine. he kept deleting it thinking it was adware.

I got the Zelda bonus disk for the GameCube. It had the original NES Zelda on it. I got framerate issues when I was playing it on my GameCube.
Sounds more like Hyperdictionary style.
It's sad that here in Europe it's the left wing who are suppressing free speech under the guise of 'hate crimes'.
