That is one bad-ass looking display. I didn't even know these existed... and I can see now that I would want to use them over normal LCD or LEDs, when given the space and power to use them. That looks fantastic!
Stick a color filter over it for even more badassery!
Lets not forget how much they might save on their power bills - 30% is a large percentage of load when you take the whole datacenter into consideration. Less power going into the servers to begin with, and less power used by the HVAC since there's less heat pumped into the air.
So, less fraud-related loss, and less power bills, and (possibly) less bandwidth bills... all for (at most) at 2% loss of revenue. A fair trade, I would say!
You forget that 30% less load, means 30% less CPU usage - which means less thermal emission from the servers, which means less power used both driving the CPUs and cooling them. It also means less bandwidth usage, and that can lower cost as well.
But, it will run fine in virtualbox, using the asio4all driver inside the VM. FLStudio will too, for that matter - though the GUI takes a bit more CPU than it normally would.
But it's not graphics lag. The graphics is still realtime, even if it's a slideshow.
If, for some reason, you have graphical lag... something is seriously wrong - and you would have other signs as well, like a 'lagging' mouse feedback, desynced sound, etc.
Not to be a troll, but pointing out the particular logical fallacies in use like that gives you a real air of 'douchebag' - the same kind of feel that got Socrates his hemlock juice (well, that plus a good stubborn streak).
I'm not saying your wrong... but generally that gives you a holier-than-thou or smarter-than-thou appearance.
Why are you replying to me? I didn't say anything about CCTVs.

How can this possibly be offtopic?
Grandparent is a post saying "using that is overkill" - a direct response to the topic.
Parent is a post saying "well yes, but what if..." which is a direct response to the direct response.
It can't get any more on-topic than this! WTF!
Or, you could realize that any community edited system is going to have problems with political subjects.
Wikipedia seems good for facts, less so for political/geopolitical type stuff.
You know that they can (already! that was fast!) detect tampered/fabricated DNA now?
It's funny for those of us who've never seen it before...
Got a bit of shark in him, eh?
Goatee said 'mbit' not 'mb'
And anyway... I have. I get to play with them all day long. Gigabit and/or fiber is a wonderful thing.
... and because you said "OK" when you agreed to the contract terms.
The smaller the print, the more important it is, folks!
Well, it's one thing to die. It's another to burn to death. That's an awfully painful way to go!

(yes, it's 30%, not 20%)
No, but pointing out the specific flaw "ie, ad hominem" makes one sound like they are a know-it-all. That's all that I am saying.

You still need a copy of windows however :/

That's what I said. Second line of my comment.
Perhaps you can work on increasing your urethral diameter :P
er, make that right way. bah, bedtime for me.
A join? Since when do you smoke SQL?
Dammit, Low/unsteady framerate IS NOT LAG!
Lag is network latency!
I am so sick of seeing this! It ranks right up there with people calling their whole computer the 'hard drive.'
Ooooh...
So this could be replicated, by suspending a strong but small and/or weak magnet in a good amount of copper winding? Blow out the magnet, and phoosh!?
Where are your fucking shift and period keys?
That version of Ubuntu had a bug where it would park, unpark, repeat - wearing the drive out quickly.
This was fixed in a patch, several releases ago.
From an outside perspective it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff...
