I agree that the docs are good, but there are many elitists on the Gentoo forums that only use that as their basis for why they are 1337 h4>0rz who pwnz0r n00bl4rz when asked why they are such elitist assholes. I didn't mean to make the docs sound bad. =)
If by "me" you mean "little me", then yes, you have a small penis. Better give in to those viagra spam emails; I hear they work just as advertised according to the carefully crafted consumer reviews included in every email!
Debian: this user typically tends to stick with older machines and enjoys using the "unstable" versions that are actually the current version, just not tested by the developers themselves yet (because they are too busy playing UT2004 and Doom 3).
Gentoo: this user typically likes to brag about how they were able to install linux using only a bash prompt, yet they conveniently disregard the fact that they used a fully understandable documentation on how to install it that even a linux newbie could understand.
Slackware: this user likes the name, tries it out and falls in love. They enjoy the.com domain for it and will likely recommend it to all their friends, similar to that of some Firefox users.
But this is the cult of the Mac you're up against here. Anything apple releases is immediatly paid for and declared the best thing ever. ~ Anonymous Coward, about 5 posts down.
The question now is, can a Linux version be far behind? (From the article)
I would hope not as of now just looking at the fundamental flaws with the Windows version. Haven't you seen the spyware-related issues regarding it? Besides, as mentioned already, there are a few other already in development (and released) spidering and organizing tools readily available for Linux. Check out http://sf.net/ for that and pretty much everything under the sun that you might need for Linux and/or Windows, MacOS, etc.
I'll stick with GNOME and such for now. Google may have an opportunity to make a good prog regarding this, but as of now they have no real credibility regarding a desktop organizer. We'll have to wait and see how it's done for MacOS and what they will do to improve on the Windows port.
So, one small change was made to prevent dumbasses from fucking over the buffer if they use characters not intended in the first place? Not worth it without updating other bugs, sorry to say. Work on the more important yet less known bugs instead!
That's partly because the installer is being compressed using 7-zip's LZMA algorithm. Try unarchiving the exe file and you'll notice that everything is LZMA'd.
I constantly mute commercials (and hate them with a passion), block popups (obviously), use vicious filtering on Adblock (at least 95% of them get blocked), ignore other ads (magazines, newspapers, etc), keep my email as spam-free as possible (and use vicious spam filters, such as Thunderbird's adaptive one), and other things. I hate advertisements so much that I even made a speech about it for a project once.
If anyone is like me with this, let me know. Advertisements should really just cease to exist. I'd rather hear about a product from a friend (who actually had experience) than from some pile of shit advertisement somewhere that just pisses me off and usually makes me lean towards not buying it...
The FCC does regulate the airwaves in America, but they can't catch everything (thankfully). It does seem odd though that a friggin TV would let off a strong enough signal to even reach a satellite, let alone it being 121.5 MHz exactly. Something about that raises some questions, like if the TV was tampered with or if it was even intentionally done to do so.
I remember this being in the Mozilla Suite preferences, but not Firefox's. If you get the Things They Left Out extension, you can see preferences such as these that aren't in the "user-friendly" one of Firefox. Apparently this would be a "useless feature to the average Joe", but I disagree.
I just logged in, and I saw no word thing. Besides, it's still a ridiculous idea unless Google plans on making their tray icon for Linux, MacOS, etc. also.
I'm pretty sure sites like that work with ActiveX since it "gives a better experience". If places like that want to make another browser within the browser using ActiveX, they might as well code a program to communicate with the bank.
I really hate sites that use ActiveX (other that Windows Update)...
I've used URIid, but it requires the page to completely load before it does it due to JavaScript's limits. It does a body onLoad to apply the changes; it can't simply apply the id to the as it writes the data. I find this annoying when the server is being slow or my connection is lagging.
At-rule for matching on site/document URL. Among other things, this makes site-specific user style rules possible (Great for changing it.slashdot.org's color scheme!)
Maybe it'd be helpful for this to be an extension until they add it to Firefox and for Mozilla 1.7 users. The only thing you can do with M1.7 and FF0.9.3 is add a patch to it, but most people don't want to download and install Cygwin, then wait 1-3 hours for it to fully recompile. =S
But if you do that, you might end up becoming God, then meeting God later on and learning something deep! Don't forget that God looks like a few stars that light up when he talks.;)

I thought that was obvious as Google has already made that clear. =)
Don't forget about FG!

Where did you think most of that $250K was going? :P

That's why you don't use the server box for other things at the same time. ;)

Seriously? Join a university that is R&D'ing Internet 2. Speeds of 6+ Gbps = pwnage
Well, I guess I'm the opposite...

There, get your facts straight.
I couldn't give a fark about fark, so this is new to me. =)
And if you would've read the entire article, Toshiba is going to replace his TV with a new one.

Does that mean we can get to Mars in less time than Dubya stated? Wicked.
