On Gentoo, to have a 32-bit Firefox you have to use the binary package. Binary packages, by default, have a different compiled-in featureset than your USE flag default, meaning that it often excludes features you want or includes those you don't. The hassle of a binary package isn't worth the majority of Flash on the web. If I want to watch Homestar Runner that badly I can go into Windows.

It works when the peasants are pissed and have very little to lose. I don't see that happening in the US for at least a decade or two--we're slowly getting the 'pissed' part but the 'little to lose' part, not so much.
(of course, there WAS that case about the lawyers suing these guys who were making lawyer jokes in front of them... but I think it was on grounds of harassment---still over the top to sue, though, IMHO.)
