There is no way they can get within sight of my house without trespassing on private property. And the view to satellites and planes is obscured by trees year round.
everyone who gets into this space has to deal with "competitors" who offers a better product at the best price(free). That isn't really a position I would think a business would want to be in.
My cable box is a DVR. Infact I don't know of a cable company that doesn't offer some kind of DVR/cable box. That said, I would like to be able to get a 3rd party, easily modifiable one with all sorts of nifty features that you would get if the people making the hardware weren't also pushing the content.
star fox came out in april 97 in japan, 10 months after mario. I remember a nintendo rep stating that there would be no rumble pak support, period. (i wish I had a link, but it was a while ago.)
1)My bad, i didn't make that clear. I meant not allowing people to buy games from any region. I want to to buy things like "sin & punishment" and "mother" among other titles.
2)the wii already has a code, they could just use that one. (pokemon uses a seperate code because of the connection with the DS, and most DS wifi games will allow you to play against random people regardless of if you have their code).
4)They don't have to modify the roms, I mean fixing things like slowdown due to too many sprites on screen at one time. They should be able to fix that via the emulator.
5)I have a problem with it being open ended. You just know that with "rare"(mario rpg, etc) games the prices are going to be inflated. It is a philosophical thing, I can't stand meatspace 'supply and demand' bullshit being used with digital information.
but #1 is the only one that really galls me, if they addressed that I would be happy. The others are really just minor complaints.
I'm still not going to buy a single virtual console game. Reasons listed below.
1)Region locked VC. This is just plain stupid. 2)Online multiplayer, Every NES/SNES emulator I've used since 1997 has had this feature, I'm sure you can figure it out. 3)No rumble in 64 games 4)Not fixing technical issues due to "authenticity" (but no rumble in 64 titles is ok?) 5)cost. 5/8/10 USD as 'starting points' for price is right out.
This is an idea whose implementation I've been waiting on for a long time. I would love to have a closet in my house with a computer 'core'. Something that can be large enough to have enough cpus and hard drives to serve a family with thin clients. I think in the future this will be a standard instillation on new house builds.
I understand what you are saying but not letting go of something has absolutely nothing to do with gaming experience. I can imagine the conversation back at NCL went like this...
boss type guy: wiimotes flying into things? I need to see strap guy about this...
strap guy: hey boss.
boss: did you test the strap to see if it could withstand the forces generated on it by a wiimote going 50+ mph?
strap guy: why would I? you aren't supposed to throw it, in fact there is a safety screen to that effect in every game, sometimes more than one.
This isn't a recall. This is for people too stupid to hold on to something while they swing it. The strap was designed to prevent people from dropping it, not to stop a remote traveling at 60+ MPH.
"As of Monday, anyone who has any problems or concerns about the integrity of their Wii Remote wrist straps can call Nintendo Customer Services for a replacement strap. This is not a product recall. The current wrist strap is fine - it has passed all safely standards and does the job. This is simply a precaution because we are aware of the concerns over their safety. All new Wii Remotes and Wii consoles will ship with the new, thicker wrist strap. Even though the original straps are perfectly adequate for normal play, we can't control the exuberance of players."
"The only ones that have a big advantage there is the russians. No idea why but their quality is usually better than you find anywhere else and the prices are reasonable too."
The Soviets provided free secondary education to anyone who could pass an entrance exam. 20% of russians aged 30-60 have 6 year degrees, twice the amount than in the United States. The education system also has a very strong emphasis on technology and science.
MvC2, Soul cal 1&2, Mario kart, Goldeneye, bomberman, mario party, mario tennis, advance wars, final fantasy crystal chronicles, table tennis on the 360.
gonna fix your summary for free... "...one terabyte is equal to 1024 gigabytes..."
And just who is going to pay for the ungodly amount of storage this would require?
This is all just so much noise and fury signifying nothing. MP3 will never die. Vorbis will never become ubiquitous.

But could Koreans eat them?
Of course it would be possible, just go up to your replicator and ask for it. No such thing as material scarcity = communist utopia.
Well if she was actively looking at porn that changes everything, why a 40 year sentence is too lenient I say!

DS = DS phat. DSL = DSlite. Now you know.

good point, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

as opposed to the Government Employees Insurance Company?
"free Ken up to do the vision thing"
translation: Stay out of the way and shut the hell up, crazy man.
"I fail to see why they won't sell well"
because the masses are morons with shitty taste. They want violence, tits, and football.
they had a real "potentially violent subject" in that kid, why all that going limp on the ground while handcuffed could take your fucking head off!
