Um.. What? The DS won't link up with Gamecube games unless the Gamecube game has been programmed to do so. FF:CC and Zelda: Four Swords were released WAY before the DS's release date, so how do you expect it to work? A simple hardware device is not enough. The DS is not a GC and would require different software on both parts for a link-up game to function properly.
Yea, they come on discs, but how are you supposed to have the SOCOM II map disc in and the SOCOM II game disc in at the same time? That's where the HDD comes in, buddy. You copy the map to the HDD, pop in your SOCOM II game disc, and play the map. The issue with the maps was that they were originally supposed to be downloadable, they touted that term ALL THE TIME! But now we find out they didn't make it possible to download the maps, thus forcing you to buy OPM or pretty much not get the maps at all...
I did this as soon as I got Doom 3:
In the console (CTRL+ALT+~) type: com_maxfps 500
then type com_allowconsole 1...then the console gets pulled up with only ~ and your FPS is essentially uncapped.
Indeed, there are no CD keys or system tie-ins. I've played my copy of SOCOM II online with my network adapter on my PS2 (which has a harddrive), my friend's PS2 (no HDD, again, my network adapter), and on my other friend's PS2 with his network adapter. None of them has SOCOM II, and it let me online just fine. This is what I love about (most) online console games, no hassles like cdkeys or anything. No registration (for the most part). Just pop it in, hit "online," and go! It's great.
They are only being released on demo discs in OPM! Essentially forcing users to subscribe to OPM if they want the maps. Apparently SOCOM II wasn't designed for download maps, though they've been using the term download the whole time...
IGN: So why are you distributing the maps on a disc and not offering it as an Internet download?
Seth Luisi: We weren't set up to do that. We ran out of time with SOCOM II and weren't able to put in a method of downloading data like that. It's actually pretty complicated to support the number of players we have with the downloader. We are looking at other methods of distribution as well.
Far Cry has higher sys requirements??? I'm able to run Far Cry at 1024x768 with the settings up high on my machine (Athlon XP 3200+, 1GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9600XT) and still get good framerate. Doom, however, I have to run it at 800x600 on medium settings (the options are low, medium, high, and ultra for those that don't know) and I STILL dip below 20FPS everynow and then. To me, it seems like Doom requires more.
Far Cry has vehicles, yes, but vehicles don't make or break an FPS.. Doom 3 is a classic run and gun shooter. Maybe a little less of the running 'cause it's so dark, but it's not trying to be Far Cry in terms of what you can do. It's just Doom deep down inside.
In fact, he mentioned that the people across the street from me were broken into that night and had some cash and jewelry stolen. They don't have a dog.
Reminds me of a Family Guy episode:
U.S. Senator: Oh my god! Oh my god! She's dead!
Peter: I don't know what killed her Mr. Senator. It may have been the wads of bills you thrust down her throat, it may not have. I'm not a doctor. But I can tell you what didn't kill her: Smoking.
U.S. Senator: You have our support! (or something like that, been a while since i've seen this episode)
So just because they didn't have a dog means you should get one? Just like how the hooker wasn't killed my smoking, smoking is now OK?
FF7 was the first I played. Then I played FFX, and then FF4. So far, FF4 is my favorite. I've beaten FF7, I'm probably very close in FFX (the cloister of trials in zanarkand), and in FF4... I forget at the moment -_- But I like it much better than FF7 and FFX.
Now, I only have the demo, but the quicksaves load fairly quickly after having loaded the level already. Same with Max Payne (both of them), once the level has been loaded, the quicksaves go by pretty quickly.
You could have nicknames in ICQ, and you could search by nicknames to find someone. So, even if "sexylady69" turned up a few results, it shouldn't be too bad.
This is so you could tell the house to start cooling off or warming up from work so that it'll be a desireble temperature when you get home from work/school.
This story is just in time. I was putting together a new computer a couple of days ago when i noticed a smell on my hands from the motherboard. It's not a bad smell. Infact, after I put everything together, i took a good smell before I put the side panel on. Might explain why I was a little out of it the past day or so..
In no way could I have known that Orkut had a blogging feature. As stated by Ohreally_factor, the about page provides nothing that even hints at a blog-like feature. Excuse me for not having an invite, seeing as how none of my friends have even heard of Orkut, but I do thank you for clearing that.
Orkut is something of a "friend-meeting" thing, right? Not a blog provider. That'd be -1 Redundant of Google, seeing as how they already own blogger.com. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see no connection between Orkut and blogging.

That's what I first though too: "There are 11,000 words on the DVD? Just the movies? Or extras too?"
WAP = Wireless Access Point. Don't be so fast to correct people.

Doom has a server list too, you know.

I wouldn't call it an equal exchange or substitution. I would like to see the definition of "equal" that MS is using...
That's what WinXP/2000, or even 98 in some cases, is for.

So you're saying one should give into peer pressure?
The point is to have fun using technology in ways it was never intended to be used.

I'm using WinXP Pro, IE 6.0.2. I've heard that MacIE doesn't have this problem, but I haven't been able to confirm it for myself.
If it complies to standards, why does (in CSS) border: 1px dotted black; produce the same effect as border: 1px dashed black; ?

'Tis from a shirt, I've seen my fair share of them at my school.
Firefox, thousands of errors. IE, one error. Do you still have some of whatever you were smoking?
Or, in this case, they're just Microsoft fanboys that can't take a joke.
