Seeing as how there has only been one Civil War with a different political climate, I don't see that quite happening. If there is another civil war, rest assured that the leaders will be hanged as traitors.
Now if states actually try to succeed...that might be a different story. But then you can kiss this country goodbye if they actually manage to win.
Pay me, I guarantee you'll find out more and it will cost you less. I'll start you off here: pay the actors less money - they aren't worth 20+ million a movie. Don't use so many pointless special effects - they aren't working in most instances. Charge less for the movie so my ticket prices aren't $9+ -- you'll be able to better compete with DVD and people will be more likely to go to see the show. Ban cell phones, talking, and make adult only showings - it'll make adults more likely to see a movie w/o having to listen to a bunch of underaged kids, take calls, have their ringtones going, and spend the entire movie talking instead of watching the movie and/or making out. Finally, ask people what they think about it instead of whoever you have been paying to figure it out for you.
Here is a good idea. Instead of spending all this extra money on special effects and actors, vette the script a few more times. I don't want to see some lame story with eye candy for special effects and poor dialog. I want something that makes sense - something that I don't have to rationalize in order to enjoy it.
Could someone make sure that George Lucas reads this....
Or perhaps some terrorists are using China as a cover to provoke a war between two large powers. What better way to take out the two largest militaries than having them fight each other?
It will come out? It already has started coming out. Ever hear of the Downing Street Memo? What about this recent grand jury investigation into the leak at the CIA? Things are already coming out, but the people don't care, or worse, if you try to discuss it, you're labelled a liberal traitor terrorist lover.
I don't think we would need anything more than what we have available now should there ever be a need for some insurgency against the government. Handguns and hunting rifles are more than effective.
If adding the part to your rifle would push it into the ugly gun catagory (assault rifle) and you did'nt register it as such (in CA).
Only in some states. Those of us that live in backwards states, such as the South or Wisconsin (Wisconsinite here...don't flame away), can not only have so called 'assault weapons,' but we can hunt with them too.
I've never seen a nation that was so scared of guns, though, that they would outlaw them because they looked scary.
Note: The following post is not an attempt at Karma Whoring...
There is another alternative for people who don't want to take the time to upgrade to XP Service Pack 2 that is far, far cheaper than buying a new machine - Firefox.
Due to two heart valve replacements, my grandfather has been on blood thinners for the better part of 15 years, and every time he gets a cut or a bruise, no matter how small, there is a chance he will have to go to the hospital. I could see a box of these bandages being useful in his home in case he gets cut.
Hey...I enjoyed Bad Boys and Bad Boys II. They weren't THAT bad.
But there is one thing that bothers me about all these action movies - the fascination with full auto. The villians are supposed to be elite terrorists, why do they need their guns set to full auto all the time?
There is very little continuity in the Post-RotJ novels, although some of the books try to keep continuity with each other and the original trilogy.
The problem with the books that came after RotJ is that there was no roadmap drawn up by Lucasfilm, so the books were not written in chronological order until the New Jedi Order series was created.
From what I understand, there is some continuity to the books that are related to the new trilogy, although I have only read one of them.
Wasn't some restuarant in Scotland sued because it also had the McDonald's name, even though it had been open fifty years before Ray Kroc reinvented the franchise?
Not entirely true, Katz. Most modern cars can run a gasohol blend up to 10% ethanol right out of the factory. However, with modifications, any car can run a blend up to 100% pure ethanol. GM and other automakers already produce vehicles capable of this.
In my opinion, we already have the solution to the problem. There are alterantive fuels that work with existing technology. Biodiesel works with any diesel engine without modification, and ethanol will run in any gasoline engine with modifications.
Even the US government, with it's grants for developing viable grain ethanol solutions, recognizes that fact.
The fuels already exist. I can convert my Saturn to run on any blend of gasoline and ethanol, such as straight ethanol or E85, and several automakers produce vehicles that can already do this. We can make biodiesel out of vegetable oil that runs in any vehicle. Both of these fuels work with the existing infrastructure.
But there is one problem. We can't, or won't, mass produce them. Ethanol is easy to mass produce - Budweiser, Jack Daniels, and Miller do it every year, but there is very little being done to produce it as a fuel. I haven't heard of any method of mass producing biodiesel at the moment.
It surprises me that the oil industry isn't considering these two options. Since the mostly work the existing infrastructure, all they would have to do is develop a new product and put it to market. It keeps them in business with a new energy source....
Actually, cleaning up diesel combustion would be the best way in the short term, versus hybrids and electrics. Diesel is a lot more efficient and it doesn't require a pair of motors in a car. Diesels don't require lots of heavy batteries and doesn't get dragged down with running the A/C. Running A/C in a Prius kills efficiency, diesels are barely fazed by it. The biggest issues with diesels is that they emit particulates and I think sulfur and nitrates, I think all of which could be helped with better fuel refining. Diesel engines also tend to last an incredibly long time with proper maintainance.
Which is why Biodiesel should be an attractive alternative fuel. Runs in any diesel engine without modification, easy to produce, and it helps get rid of waste cooking oils that are expensive to store. It can even be mixed with regular diesel fuel and it uses the same infrastructure as we have now. I don't understand why we're not trying to develop this technology more...

I remember reading about it in the Chicago Tribune. It must have been a few days ago.
You're user ID is way too low for someone who saw Casablanca in the theater.

EA isn't the only one with exclusive deals. MLB just did the same thing for all baseball games.
Someone watches too much Sailor Moon.
Why can't we offer suggestions to those who currently run the system? I think we also need a -1 Idiot Mod.

You dont see Lamborghi parts in a civic do you.
No, but I've seen some pretty stupid looking Civics, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to put exotic car parts into one.
Just to get offtopic for a second, I love your Sig. I have a 229.

I think he smiled once in Top Gun.
The National Weather Service Website? The radio?

Or an excuse for a class-action lawsuit...:o)
