Kjella, the problem with that logic is that China would be equally hurt by breaking off trade relations with the US as the US would be. We are China's largest export market, and that is growing by the day. If China decided to dump the dollar and/or break off trade relations, they wouldn't have a large market to send their wares to and their economy would come tumbling down as well.

Why do you think China is worried about the product safety issues that have come up recently? If they start loosing the American export market, they are going to be in serious trouble.

That's frickin' rude, man. Seriously, if I was doing business with you, especially where I was paying you, and you sent me some link to a new office suite because you sent me documents I couldn't read, I would cease to do business with your company.

Its one thing to stick to your principles, but to force someone to adopt a different office suite when there are other alternatives to .doc (like RTF, PDF, and HTML) or even official converters for MS Office provided by Sun is just uncalled for.

I don't think this is very likely. There is a lot of political power tied up in Guns through the NRA and other pro-2nd Amendment groups. Even if it did pass, it would likely start a civil war because there are a lot of "you can pry my gun from my cold, dead hands" types in the US.

Not really. Photoshop lists for about $699 USD. A base DSLR is at least a hundred or two hundred more than that brand new.

Really, Adobe Lightroom or Apple Aperture are more suitable for photo work, and those programs are cheaper.
That really depends on the photo work you're trying to do. Working with JPEGs? Aperture and Lightroom really aren't for you and you're better off with GIMP, Photoshop, or Elements. If you're working with RAW, then you want Aperture or Lightroom.
