  1. Been thinking.. on Review: Mario Kart DS · · Score: 0

I've been thinking of picking this one up, because I haven't had any luck with finding the emulator to play the original on OS X. I guess this just sold me on it.

  2. Darwin award flunky on Blizzard Sued for Death of Gamer · · Score: 0

It's only a matter of time before people are suing the Darwin awards people for their late family member's not make the list. On-Topic: How in any state of mind can you actually believe that a video game could cause your child to act out some weird disturbing fantasy? I think it's a case of the parents having shoddy genetics in the delusional sense, and passing it onto the child. Then the child grows up with delusions out the wazzo, and ends up being the leading cause for his own death. Maybe the Neo-Cons are right, and we should pray for the appocalypse now. Well at least the gene pool could use a little thinning.

  3. That's nice but... on Is the Earth in a Vortex of Space-Time? · · Score: 0

I'm more interested in teh gravity waves than frame dragging. Frame dragging can be explained with other methods, even if I can't give any examples at the moment. Don't hang me for it I'm more interested to see if the gravitational waves exist, so that we can actually get to the point of understanding what causes gravity.

  4. Incorrect on Scientists Produce Fearless Mice · · Score: 0

Being a military person myself, what you want is confidence, and intelligence. In the Army they want people that can work effectively as an individual and in a team. Fear is there, but you are drilled and trained with such repetition to be able to operate with the fear, because it's so ingrained into what you are supposed to do. The biggest flaw in any soldier is being indecisive. That will get you killed faster than a bad choice. Fear is something that drives you to learn from your mistakes, and make sure you can make a choice, and hopefully the right one.

  9. Colors have nothing to do with physics now? on Everything Bad is Good for You · · Score: 0

Gee, last i looked colors were based on the wavelength of the visible light that was reflected off the material due to some chemical stucture. Certain colors do not work together, because to the human eye they do not focus properly together, this is the very basis of clashing colors. A person that can't match colors is color-blind not nerdy. Nerdy is someone that actually understands physics well enough to known this, and be able to explain it. Not being color-blind. Also, you can't just spend 40 years of your life and jump into Quantum Physics. I've spent a good chunk of my life studying physics, and I still can't jump into Quantum like any of my professors can. Most of them are over 50, and just now starting to be able to explain it all to me. It's not that it's hard, it's just that there's so much you have to understand before it. Forgive typos, it's very late here and I'm wasting time on /.

I certainly do think they should keep King away from writing the dialogue, but as far as the plots go, they are perfect comic world material. No real linear storyline, and it jumps around like you wouldn't believe. Only the Batman universe has nearly as many breaks. I got tired of having to buy from three or four different comic lines to just read one story. Ever tried reading how Bruce Wayne got acquited from his murder charges in the Gotham Nights line? You have to buy a few Robins, and a couple of the Azraels to know. I still don't what went on there.

I'd rather supply them with the education, than just make them happy for a little while.
