Oh well then it's down to the language's conventions, so € written in English as a prefix is alright. Fair enough mate.

ps: on a side note we all know that the right way of writting one and a half is 1,5 enough with that silly '.' :-p

Because that's how it's used throughout France and the other European countries I've been to.
Never ever saw a price written with € as a prefix.
The United Kingdom doesn't use Euro and English speakers are more familiar with the prefix usage ($ and £), that would be my guess why this English document is written that way..

Well technically it should be 497M€ and 280M€.
For the Euro sign is a suffix not a prefix like $ or £..

I've got nothing against the Power architecture and am not a fanboy of the x86 familly but could you point out why let's say an Opteron platform would be inferior to a Power one? Thought the latter was a well designed one and it's been on the rise the last couple of years.

Microsoft joined the IBM Power PC bandwagon(?) with the Xbox360 and so far I haven't heard people complaining about BSOD or crappy performance. They may be able to pull one right every so often..

I'd rather say that x86 is around because it's now just a common ISA that is well known and that Intel and AMD have both swapped the internals for RISC a long time ago.

yeah I know how it works and it's the same(ish) in the Euro zone.
That's why we often end up with the same prices in $ and Euros even if Euro is stronger. Due to our VAT and sometimes import taxes too. At least true for most computer parts, and electronic in general I think.
But then the price is converted from Euros to £, that would be a double rip-off otherwise..
