Actually I considered my history book pretty bad but it's hard to make a history textbook interesting so I guess it's to be expected.
So should I take it that you think the region was completely uninhabited by jews since the roman diaspora then?
I think you should wait until you pass your 8th grade history class before trying to make smartass comments about how the bible's the only thing connecting the jews to the region. It's not like, yknow, there were vast numbers of them living there continuously since the diaspora that were constantly subject to oppression.
So in other words you want them to do the exact opposite of the only thing keeping the number of rockets and mortars fired at Israeli (arab AND jew) civilian targets in the low to mid thousands rather than much higher.
What did we do with vietcong tunnels in vietnam? The ones used for moving and storing weapons and occasionally fired from. We demolished them. What does israel do with houses build on top of tunnels or used as weapons caches. They demolish them. If people don't want their house bulldozed all they need to do is say "No you cannot indiscriminately attack civilians from my house or store/transport the weapons you use to do that in/through my house."
As for the borders, wtf do you suggest they do? Just open them up for MORE weapons to get smuggled through?
The religious extremists in the region already HAVE a concrete and unarguable reason for doing what they do, it's called genocide. This has NOTHING to do with Israel as a state and everything to do with the fact that there are jews and christians (but mostly jews) over there that aren't dead yet. Read the Hamas charter sometime, the slaughter of all jews everywhere is listed as mandatory for the messiah to come in it. If you think anything Israel does has ANY bearing on anything the palestinians do you're delusional.
There's a palestinian couple living a few apartments away from me, do you know what he calls palestinians that don't want to kill all the jews? Israelis. Just like the million and a half arabs living in israel that are ALSO a target of palestinian violence because they don't join the genocidal crusade Hamas is currently leading.
They ARE the previous land owners despite other people constantly trying to wipe them off the face of the earth with varying degrees of success. You REALLY don't know your world history do you... let me help you, what was the region called before the romans renamed it after the philistines after (suprise suprise) forcing the jews out. Or for a more recent example who was it that got all the "palestinians" to move to where they are today so that which nations' militaries would have a clear path to push the jews into the sea...
Harmful harmful force? Dude i think you need to re-evaluate your worldview if you want to blame the group being constantly attacked and threatened with the explicit goal of genocide for everything wrong. The mere presence of jews in the middle east produces the reaction you see from Hamas and friends, whether or not Israel was officially a state would have fuck all to do with anything other than the success of those attempts at genocide.
Hell Hamas' own govt charter explicitly blames the jews (merchants of death) for everything from the french and russian revolutions to both world wars while outright demanding the death of every jew and anyone who refuses to participate in said genocide.
I don't know Stephen, that depends. Are they using those AP bullets against drug lords wearing body armor or are they spraying windshields on the highway after having an unmarked police car pull an illegal maneuver to give them an excuse?
This isn't using molotov's in a riot "against the man", its a bigass radio antenna that breaks high tech equipment that's used to torture people sometimes to death in the streets after a few undercover cops threw rocks out of a crowd.
The police and military are supposed to have an advantage, they're not supposed to use that advantage butcher american citizens just because its more convenient. Go read up on "Excited Delirium".

This stuff's been around for ages. Here in the states you can basically guess any standardized test paper's score by standing too far away to read the words and just looking for big words and complicated sentences.
Kill one man your a murderer, kill 10 you're a sociopath, kill 1 million and as long as it's somewhere else nobody cares because they can't grasp the numbers anymore.
Considering that so far he seems to despise "consolized" games even more than usual for him I would expect that.
Left4Dead1 had pretty much one of the worst UI's of any game I've ever played. Long tree style menus that randomly dumped me back to the beginning after applying changes, utter inability to fine tune individual settings, mandatory motion blur...
I'm just hoping that since L4d2 is closer to valve's in-house stuff rather than being bought basically halfway through it has a decent chance of sucking less. That includes selling what's basically a $20 half-finished mod as a $60 fullsized game and then pulling an EA making the sequel and dumping the original only a year later.
Well mario made sense because he was a slower platformer to begin with and even in 2d had a reasonable amount of exploration already built in (mario3).
Sonic games... if you look at "maps" of the levels, they're ENORMOUS. Doing that in 3d would be almost impossible so they needed to both slow down sonic and find ways to make you feel like you were going faster and farther than you really were. Thus you get lots of grinding and levels that are basically roads floating in the middle of the air. Since Super Sonic basically went even faster still and was invincible except for crushing and falling into pits he had to go out the window too, it'd be impossible to control or map for and remove their carefully planned interruptions.
Going back to 2d and not on a handheld means there's a chance to get those looooong levels that aren't based on "haha didn't see that coming" tiny screen cheap shots and grinding/rocketing/whatevering level gimmicks back. Along with hopefully the old emerald system.
You couldn't be more wrong if you TRIED. There's nothing wrong with kids' imagination, the problem is that everyone from their parents out to are forcing them to spend every waking moment in some "structured recreation" style BS and nobody tolerates kids actually making noise and messes anymore. Creative toys are basically the exact opposite of this and encourage kids to ask "why" and not settle for "because I said so", that's where the real problem is.
The problem isn't the kids, the problem is that some (probably uncomfortably large) percentage of parents absolutely refuse to consider their children as anything other than half employee and half property. You raise your kids to never know privacy, dignity, or respect and unless they are particularly unique in some way that shakes them free of the pattern they'll be doormats to anyone that wants to violate them in a similar way.
It doesn't help that we're the country that has no problem with flooding our kids with violence but god help us if they might possibly see a nipple somewhere, let alone anything else, and so parents will fall over themselves to pay various companies god knows how much for every knee-jerk reaction they can wring out of them.
You mean like Counter-strike Source, whose visual quality is pretty much infinitely variable thanks to it's support of custom content, and had 95,530 individual players at it's peak today?
My mother's calls and texts always get answered. Because she knows that just because she CAN demand an instant response from me at all times under threat of doesn't mean that she NEEDS to exercise that power just for it's own sake.

"Excited Delirium".
Being forced to play the 360 game and Heroes over and over... the horror.

what exactly do these guys have to do with NASA?
Oh god that's a horrible image, you'd never be able to pull one of those out again after a 300lb hambeast sat on it.
Lewis black for me.
Kill one man your a murderer, kill 10 you're a sociopath, kill 1 million and as long as it's somewhere else nobody cares because they can't grasp the numbers anymore.
We need to get an embargo on them pronto.
You're just fishing for that +5 insightful/informative, aren't you.

I didn't know valve did such a good job of making a proper gorey zombie game.

Hey that wasn't his fault, he was just spychecking and nobody told him FF was on.

Haven't heard about that last one but I'm pretty sure my neighbor's kid has ADD/OCD/MOUSE
