You should try Progress Quest: http://www.progressquest.com/
It's a lot more family friendly version of an MMORPG, and i predict most of the future games will be looking at it for ideas.
We will get Blu-ray and HD-DVD Windows support when the media and software companies decide we're finally allowed to watch the content we rightfully and legally purchased

Internet-only we don't have, but we do have an isp that is providing Digital TV channels through ADSL lines, and they are later this year switching to providing HDTV channels through that same line. (for that they need to pump the speed up a notch tho)
the good thing with this isp is, that unlike others, they have to guarantee the speeds they advertice, for smooth tv watching.
I live in Finland, we have 8M cable connections currently available.
i also work in a company that resells quite a lot of other isp's connections, and have not heard anything of this, or of the company mentioned in the article.

The consumer versions would probably be coated by this:

As stated in the News section of blu-ray.com
Oct 30, 2004 - TDK Develops New Hard-Coating Technology for Blu-ray Discs
Also, i'd like to comment that it's wrong to call a Blu-ray media DVD.. it's not like you go calling your DVD's CD's either, do you?
Yes, displays will work with source material. the HDCP protection is enforced by the player, not the display device.
i think a lot of people in these comments are confusing the HDMI connection type (DVI + Audio) with the HDCP copy-prevention scheme
The original thread was in Something Awful forums, and the guys from there then spread it to tens of other forums. Look into SA to find comments made by the guy who made those pictures
how does this not apply? it's a weekly event on news, here in europe to hear about israel responding to a death of one of their soldiers, with a missile strike on civilian targets on the palestinian side.
(politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by clandestine agents)

Oh the irony of the Parent poster getting tagged as Redundant :)
Are you seriously suggesting that that is the only thing preventing or keeping students from altering their grades?
Actually, a Shadow Priest is the most wanted class at the moment for any instances.
/w priest1: hi, are you shadow? /w prist1: oh ok.. nothing then..
There's a lot of the following going on:
priest1: no, i'm holy specced

And if you didn't mean a front projection tv, but a real projector. Sony Qualia 004 will set you back 27,000$, and 3,000$ for each lamp.
please leave your geek card at the table, and don't let the door hit you in the ass :)
So, in effect, you are saying that you are the fault?

And the person in question did not feel the heat, before he almost walked into it?
He's talking about the Finnish Law, which allows the downloading, but not the distribution.

Yes, a real slashdotter would have remembered the last article about this and had no need to RTFA.
:)
A semi slashdotter would have searched for that previous article and read the comments on that, thus cirmumventing the necessity to RTFA
The first European HDTV channel is already operating, and the european digital tv system can just as well pump HDTV streams as the currents ones.
.computer. drive, because of it's high datacapacity. so from this angle alone, it will be widespread.
also, some of the stores are now adverticing flat screens with as being 'HD', so it's starting to catch on.
besides, blu-ray will be the next generation
