i have an EEEpc that i upgraded to 2gb ram, and use 512mb of it for a ramdisk, which i put my swapfile on. the eeepc runs flawlessly, much faster than if i had the swapfile on the SSD or SD card, and also saves files from the internets to the ramdisk as fast as the wireless interface can handle. some people think that swapping from a ramdisk makes no sense, time paradox, etc, but it makes more sense than to have it on a slow ass hard drive and/or SSD, reading/writing its fucking self closer to the failure point. even if no real speed advantage is gained, you are not wearing anything down.
the date on the first article? i jp googled the issue, and came up with this: http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/tabi/news/20060301tb03.htm this is an old issue. also, there is nothing in either article saying this goes into effect tomorrow.
to when we can use japanese phones on these side of the pacific? the innumerable unavailable features and functionality would suddenly be realized here.
if only they would re-focus all the efforts towards SPEED, and away from capacity. capacity seems to be the easy thing to figure out. so why not concentrate on making the shit faster??
im glad to know freebsd is safe. makes me wonder why there is more development and fanatisicm for linux, when its clearly inferior.
There really is no need for an AuthShadowFile directive. The purpose of a shadow file is separate sensitive information (e.g. passwords) from other account information (username/UID/GID, etc). Programs like/bin/ls often reference the passwd file in order to display user/group names rather than numbers; these programs do not really need that sensitive information. Rather than relying on programs like/bin/ls to ignore the sensitive information, libraries were developed to split the information into/etc/passwd,/etc/shadow (and similarly for/etc/group, but very few administrators use group passwords anymore). Some operating systems, most notably FreeBSD, though, chose a different form of information separation. Since FreeBSD maintains account information in binary database files, the shadow libraries mentioned above are not used. Instead, FreeBSD returns the sensitive information to the calling program only if it has sufficient (i.e. superuser) privileges.
how one would get from livermore to san jose WITHOUT caltrain?

i have taken bart from livermore all the way to milbrae, and then taken a caltrain to san jose. when the hell are they going to just run bart out there from fremont? i heard that they are gonna extend bart out to tracy. FUCK tracy, run more trains out to major cities bart doesnt service yet.
has much improved wireless support. you should consider switching. you will be doing you and your friend a favor (not to mention having less headaches).
