Ah, you're right, I wasn't thinking straight. What I said is correct, but in Ohio. You have to have lost your job 'through no fault of your own.' So if you're losing your job because you screwed up instead of just a lack of work, you're boned.
At my school, and I suspect at many others, you can get university (i.e. tuition) subsidized student-copies of Windows and Office for under $10 each. So while I still (generally) use OpenOffice.org myself, for the vast vast majority of students at my school the $10 is worth the nonhassle of not needing to relearn to use their word processor, spreadsheet and presentation programs.
Even if Global Warming is not caused by humans directly, it seems plain to me that regardless of the cause, it's going to cause trouble for humanity, especially if it's occuring at this rate. We'll get flooding along (highly populated) coasts, shifts in where land is good for growing food, etc. etc.
"Say, these are awful nice kneecaps. It'd be a shame if, y'know, something were to happen to 'em. And accidents do happen... like accidentally installing pirated versions of Windows."
Maybe the quality of these suck--I haven't tried, and I don't intend to--but $9 doesn't seem that bad. That's what you'd spend on a cheap movie at the store.
You do realize, of course, that you're still supposed to report purchases made online, so that you can pay taxes on them, right? They've already closed that loophole. You're just breaking the law when you try to exploit it.
IAAP (though just a graduate student), and it's my understanding that any black hole we could possibly create with LHC would have such a small amount of mass that it would evaporate in much, much, (much), less than a second-ie: before swallowing anything at all. And the Earth is not nearly dense enough to give it enough fuel to sustain. Even the core of the Earth isn't dense enough.
I don't really think that our goofy spelling has that much to do with our country's literacy and folks with spelling problems. Consider Japanese. It has two phonetic syllabaries with 46ish characters each, so that's easy enough. But then you have to know 2000ish general-use kanji, almost each one with at least two completely different pronunciations, to read the newspaper. And Japan has historically had one of the highest literacy rates in the world, though I don't have a citation. And I've heard that recently the kidlets are having trouble keeping up with the kanji, as they become as lazy as Western students.
A party called "The Reformation of IP Law Party" won't get any press. We already have tons of third-parties that people don't even know exist. The flame-mongering Pirate Party might draw some notice. And in this case, I think any press would be good press.
That's a silly analogy, though. You spent 3x as much money to quadruple your performance. Now, you spend the same amount of money 12 months later to increase performance by 25-50%.
More realistic would be replacing your $200 Voodoo 1 with a $200 Voodoo 2 (as opposed to the $300 12 megs). Would it have been faster? Sure thing. Even 2x as much, though? Well, probably not, really.
These animals are radioactive but otherwise healthy. A large number of animals died initially due to problems like destroyed thyroid glands but their offspring seem to be physically healthy. Experiments have shown the DNA strands have undergone considerable mutation but such mutations have not impacted crucial functions like reproduction.
I'm touched that you think of me dearly enough to use cute little names, but it is really unneeded. Anyway, I don't think I actually said that it was human caused, but I do believe that "climate change" is actually happening, and that it won't be beneficial to my comfort. Regardless of whether we're the cause, I think we should be... you know... trying to think of what we're going to do to allay the ill effects.
Of course, that won't actually happen, and things will just slowly get crummy, people will wonder why we didn't see it coming, and we'll scurry (likely successfuly) to keep things running in some manner or other without a collapse of society. But, it'll probably hurt my retirement a little. Sigh.
And if you don't believe Random-Website (I wouldn't), you can find the figure of 23 feet on Wikipedia, from Greenland alone. And if you don't trust that, you can do the math yourself. Volume of ice on Greenland: 2.6*10^6 km^3. Surface area of Earth's oceans: 360*10^6 km^2. Density of ice: ~.92 times that of water. So, (2.6*.92)/360=.0066 km. Or, 6.6 m rise. Or, ~22 feet.

You are not elligible for unemployment if you are fired. There is a difference between that and a layoff, which you are elligible with.

We could also add that it has become spherical under its own gravity. So a lot of those things are out. But Your Mom still qualifies.
I guess useful features just aren't as sexy as a New Brushed Metal Look, or a Genie Effect.

No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame.

AMD's slashing prices 30-50% at the end of this month. The X2 3800+ will be in the vicinity of $170.

Yes, that was a joke. Congratulations on figuring it out!
I'm a gamer, and I listen to NPR. OTOH, I don't do podcasts. So... they almost had me, but then not quite.
2) You can use this. Also visible here, but beware the absolutely enormous picture.

Don't forget congressional bills. USA PATRIOT Act, the OMG TERRORISTS Act, the HFS CHILDPORN Act, etc.
Yes. I did, in fact, divide a voume by an area. And I got back out a length (height, in this case)! km^3/km^2=km.
Yeah, hypocrites suck. No arguments there. But you sound a touch angry. Relax a little, man.

Sorry. You're wrong. I know you're an AC and so will never see this, and you were just trolling anyway, but:
"Geographic region: GreenlandPercent: 10.82
