Looking at BG's trackrecord in predicting the future, education will be a huuge market for tabs pretty soon. He always was not just wrong, but completely opposite to actual trends. M$ would be twice as big if not for BG 'vision'.

I think, just like the other MS, this company is doing everything it can to completely pwn the field in which they operate and use every means available. In Monsanto's case it is far more dangerous even, because the 'code' they are meddling with is not the OS software for 75% of desktops, but the very system of 100% of life on this planet. This is not just about freedom of information, but about life and evolution.
A company like that should be scrutinized to the highest standards. Instead it is one of the dirtiest and most cynical companies in history. Their dossier reads like a bad villain movie, only worse.
I have a bad feeling about this. This type of IPO hype strongly reminds me of the previous Web 1.0 collapse and the timing would be right for FB to maximize it's peak on the market.
I always assumed the suggestion that the laws were in place because Robotics would have been forbidden otherwise, and every unit had to have these laws burned in stone in it's BIOS, or it would be an illegal device.
Since there hasn't been any mention of forbidding robots yet, I doubt the 3 laws system will ever exist.
Part of the CIA's exercise here seems to be to prevent the ethical discussion from halting the development. On the one hand I think it is good to see an Agency start a 'preemptive' discussion about a sensitive issue, otoh it makes you wonder what they're up to.

If they put a (transparent) solar panel on the outside they could even get subsidized in many countries. I want a 3 x 4 one (meters).
