You could just explain the error... Its volts, not MegaVolts. And such a low voltage is hard to expect in a system with that much charge (Someone want to find how much, in Coulombs? =P), so its not very likely to have been 1.21 Gigawatts.

I think a major point that you didn't mention (even though all the points you make are very valid) is that of teaching to a standard. Want to learn about Subject X? Too bad, its not on the State Standardized test that you need to pass to graduate, so you don't get to learn it.

I live in Massachusetts. When I was in elementary school they introduced something called the MCAS, which was Massachusetts' new system for testing students. Up until then they'd been using the California Test of Basic Skills as a measurement of how students were doing. But when MCAS was introduced, it was introduced by the state, so it became a graduation requirement. This meant that in elementary and middle school, the majority of subject material was reworked so that students would supposedly do better on this test. This is before Bush's "No Child Left Behind." High school up until that point was not as affected, because of its more diverse and personalized course selections, but by this point English and Math classes take at least 2 weeks out of the curriculum to review, regardless of course level (honestly, the honors students really don't need it.) and soon the system is introducing tests for other subjects, meaning that those classes are going to lose class time as well. On another note, the math curriculum is terrible anyway.

Pirates and casual downloaders aren't going to agree with your solution, because it leans farther towards restriction than release.

Really? When I use 3200x1200 I still wind up with plenty of overlapping windows. Say, one web browser window (800x600), Instant Messenger (300ish pixels on the right, plus a medium sized box for the messages (this is a tabbed box, imagine without tabs, then I'd definitely have a lot of overlap)), one folder (640x480 through 1024x768 depending on pictures or files), and then if I'm doing something productive, another program (which is almost always greater than 1024x768). It may not take all the screen space, but there's definitely a good deal of overlap.

What I'd really like to see is this sort of thing working without needing to drag something around. I want to press one of my mouse buttons (like the Forward button that I never use) and be able to roll back windows so I can see my desktop icons. Then maybe double-click it to make them return to normal.

Seriously though, would you rather have your kid growing up knowing how to satisfy his or her instincts by having sex, or by hurting people? Its worse than a game that has a 15 minute tutorial, because it doesn't even offer a way to figure it out, other than trying things over and over until you understand it.
