We are all posting our opinions here, perhaps I should put that disclaimer in my signature. But wow, what hasty generalizations you've made there! They point out your own winded naïveté. You just spend more time pointing it out than I do. I bet you're short of breath! Do you live religiously by what the media reports? You're obviously entertained by stories of police searches, use of police force, etc. Does that mean they're all illegal? Did you get busted for a DMCA violation? Do you think 9/11 was an inside job, too? I'm not a member of the agency that conducted the investigation, I'll admit as much to that. It does suggest to me if the DA would drop the case due to lack of evidence, then some of what was seized played out in Gizmodo's favor.
...that watch too much Nancy Grace. Quit reading after one too many stories bashing cops using tasers. Wish Apple would've sued them into the ground. Fuckin fucks.
...the house wouldn't have been raided. Are we really saying journalists should be exempt from such laws but the government should be held to it? If I was going to pursue a career in politics for power, I'd drop it to go into journalism. Chen/Gizmodo bought stolen property when he should've been suspicious enough to know better. Fucking plain and simple. $5000 of stolen property to increase my advertising revenue 10x that? And the law is on my side about it? What a deal. Sorry, I'm not buying the demagoguery bullshit.
Perhaps the Federal Government needs a privacy agreement people will find difficult to refuse. Like when you sign your W-2 or 1040, you agree to surrender your privacy rights.
Yeah, it's kind of creepy when I've made a typo in my address bar and get a search page generated by Cox that's filled with ads clearly generated by my browsing.
People read that? I only read the Apple store agreement after that South Park episode. And, no, I don't have my mouth sewn to someone's ass yet... and I'm not gonna!
Donate them to a school? Put them on an RC car? There are endless hobbyist uses for them. I did read an article on the net somewhere about turning a Logitech brand cam into a ultraviolet camera. Was pretty cool. Google it. You could also just throw them out or eBay them.

...the tech world we all love wouldn't be the same without him. As a medical professional, I feared his time was near when he stepped down. It was painfully easy to tell his life was Apple and the one thing to separate him from there would be the end of it. Set aside his achievements in the tech industry, he was an amazing business man. People in his company feared, some hated him at one point or another, but despite his tyrannical reputation at Apple, he was right. He had a number of visions that took a company from one mission to another and it was for the better. While I'm a Windows guy, I do have an iPhone and it's changed my day to day life as far as getting stuff done. RIP Steve, condolences to his family.
I gotta say I'm torn on this one day to day. Think openly about it: when the Bill of Rights was crafted, communication as we know it wasn't even dreamed of. I'm sure we have just as many assholes today as back then, but nevertheless a hateful tweet can go so much further than a locally printed paper on a hand-cranked press. I hate trivial government regulation (and regulating the he-said-she-said on facebook is pretty fucking trivial) and don't get me started on the systematic loss of rights going on, but you cannot deny there is a problem with loud mouth bloggers, cyberbullying, the press running kangaroo courts, etc. If the people want less government attention, then they should exercise, not censorship, but a little fucking decency.
At first I thought the German government lost it and were overreacting about Japan. But now a company who does business world wide is dropping nuclear power I'm asking myself: is there too much lead in the water over there or is the country just fucking crazy on their own?
They expected people to just take it up the ass. They belittled those who wouldn't even at the cost of losing those subscribers. Really, I get 1 blue-ray a week with Netflix and their streaming library sucked, so I gave it up and started going to Redbox and I save a ton of cash on it. Their CEO said, people will have to give up "a couple lattes a month" with the price increase, but it looks like Netflix employees lost a few million a month.
'If Congress doesn't act, we will default.'
Seems to be how we get things done in this country! Next month, I'm going to tell my mortgage company the same thing.
Blatant anti-competitive practice. You can't buy up companies to kill competition, cause you'll get an anti-trust suit, so you just sue them out of the market and the government has to back you up.
Don't forget Facebook only know what information you put in your profile or on your wall. If Anonymous wants something to be mad about, they should get mad about people lacking a concept of confidentiality.
My ISP (Cox) is already suspending accounts for privacy. A friend of mine called Cox to find his account had been suspended for pirating Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. He doesn't play video games, but also doesn't know jack about Wifi security. After a little looking around for him, I saw someone had been squatting on his connection and then locked it up for him. Despite he explained someone apparently used his network without his permission and broke the law, Cox didn't give a rat's ass about it. It's much easier and cheaper for them to shoot now and ask questions later.
Being an avid gamer since childhood, I heartily agree. Call Wal-Mary and tell them it's not Call of Duty or GTA, it's the political movies, magazines, and books. No more pep talks from the president to our children in school.
Since Anonymous was thought to have split some time ago, I wouldn't be surprise if this is maybe "the better half," if you will.
No, just a coin incident.

Ditto. Haha thanks.

Spinnners. A dixie horn. A trunk rattling subwoofer. A trunk, come to think of it. And junk.

My brother-in-law says just don't let brown people fly. On a serious note, don't forget the 9/11 hijackers used no guns or bombs.

Floppies? Is that SATA3? Or is that like a new MP3 player?

Need I mention how many tools are available for compromising wireless security?

Put a magnet over a pacemaker or AICD and it's hacked. Probably won't do any damage and unless the patient is asleep, they'll just pull it off.
