But Karmazin and Parsons said in an interview that the companies are working on developing a receiver that could receive both signals." I'm currently a Sirius subscriber and love it. I'd imagine that if it were required to change hardware to continue service, they would either provide replacements free of charge or give a very good discount for those already subscribing to either service.

You're right, that's both illegal and unethical. It also happens quite often and is ignored more often than not. I'd venture to say that as they found 5 people working for CCP in BoB and that there are MANY more than that number working for CCP and supposedly, most of them play the game, there is a distinct possibility that similar things have occured in other alliances and corportions. I've seen one CCP ex-employee admit that he used his position to help his alliance before he quit and he wasn't in BoB. Why is BoB taking all the heat then? They are currently the biggest and most powerful alliance in EVE. They are getting a bit cocky about it and have no qualms about throwing thier weight around either which wins them few popularity points. Many hate them and would like nothing more than to see the alliance die. Of course they will be the focus of accusations and suspicion. I'd bet that if a member of Big Blue had been discovered doing this, there'd be much less of a fuss about it although it'd still be wrong.

Really, I'll admit that T2 frigs, destroyers, cruisers, and battlecruisers are the best in the game in thier classes. However, T1 battleships, and cpitals are the deciding factor in most battles. Even a command ship can be beaten 1v1 by a battleship. Even so, T2 ships and equipment are available to everyone in the game and usually for prices that are pretty close no matter where you get them from. T2 equipment is almost always beaten by some type of faction equipment. The exceptions used to be cloaking devices, guns, and amunition. After the T2 ammo nerf, I don't use T2 guns or ammo much anymore. There are just too many drawbacks and not enough benifits compared to other available equipment. T2 Cloaking devices are still the best though. Faction's the really uber stuff and anyone with enough ISK or the time and access to 0.0 can get that. The real advantage of T2 equip is that it's cheaper than the equivilent T1 and faction equipment and you can make a much better profit by making it.

Have you ever played any other MMOs? They have the same issues too. Customer service has actually been improved a lot lately. I remember waiting a month and a half for a response from my petition about a year ago. The last one I made was taken care of within the day and the GMs have been very helpful lately. As to canceling your subscription, I think that's just stupid. Yes, maybe the things the Devs helped BoB along a bit, but they are mainly so powerful due to thier very active and knowlegdeable player base. They have fewer players than many other alliances, but when it comes to a battle, more BoB usually show up than those arrayed against them. They control some of the most profitible regions in EVE and have controlled them as far back as I can remember. They have so much income from other things that I doubt the things the Devs admitted to made that big of an impact in the grnd scheme of things. I'm not saying what they did wasn't wrong. It was and those responsible should be punished for that. Also, I'm not in BoB nor am I a fanboy of them. I've fought with and agianst them several times and have developed a respect for them through my experiances. I've also fought with and against many of those arrayed against them and LV and have less respect for most of them. Goonswarm are laughable and while I've never been in a capital battle against RA or AAA, they didn't do so well in the conventional battles I saw. D2 is a force to be reconed with, but I don't think they can take BoB on thier own.

  9. Re:Time to rock and roll over BOB then. on EVE Devs Admit To Misconduct · · Score: 1

Yes, there are a lot of people are arrayed against BoB and LV, but they have allies as well. All the battles I know of so far have been going heavily in favor of BoB and LV. I don't doubt they've taken losses, but both of those alliances have tremendous capital assets even if they are outnumbered on the whole with conventional ships. Capital ships, good leadership, and good coperation with your allies are what win the big alliance wars. BoB and LV have been coordinating very well so far while the attacks against them have seemed poorly planned and coordinated. The war has just really started though and I think this war will be very interesting as most of the major players of the north and south are arrayed against each other.

Not so rediculous if you have a lot of ISK, and trust me, BoB makes ISK by the boatloads through legitimate means that I know of. When I say boatloads, I mean at least 50 bil a month. That's just from corporations/alliances paying them to let them live in BoB controlled regions. Then they have VAST POS networks mining very expensive moon minerals and I would be surprised if they didn't make at least 100 bil a month from those. Then they have several complexes in thier control, and you can easily pull 30 bil a month off a single 10/10. Depending on the faction, you could probably make to 50 bil a month. And that's just 1 complex. Taking these things into consideration, I'd be extreamly surprised if they didn't have a huge collection of T2 BPOs.

Honestly, I prefer solo PVPing, but it is getting more difficult to do lately. Definately not impossible though, a properly fitted Vagabond works VERY well for solo PVP and I've been successfull soloing with interceptors and T1 cruisers as well. You just have to be smart about it, select your targets carefully, and wait for the right time. I PVP in my Rokh all the time and I have friends who use thier faction BSs in PVP. PVP in EVE is all about tatics, I've seen 2 BS and a recon kill 2 command ships, 2 BSs, and a T1 cruiser with no losses before.
