I don't know about that. I remember accidentally changing the hd settings in the bios (200MB in a 25MHz 486) and the packard bell phone tech actually walked me through fixing it. He didn't even need to transfer me.
You should include a condition in your statement if you don't want to be seen as a liar, unless you've drank every coffee in the country. Maybe you meant any chain's coffee? I'm sure you know that there are plenty of ethnic restaurants from all over the world in most major cities.
I tried to subscribe to the $5 AT&T plan a couple months ago only to find out that those plans are gone and replaced with a $20 unlimited texting plan.
The only real problem with XP and Office 2003 is the hardware they run on and trying to run a modern antivirus on them. While 256MB ram was rather nice 10 years ago, it's barely enough for an a/v now days.
Maybe some people like higher quality video than streaming can provide over their internet connection?
Try not believing when streaming at least matches the quality of bluray.
It was certainly nice to be able to enjoy the occaisional movie at home, without having to fight crowds at the theaters, but my life doesn't revolve around TV and movies (at least not anymore) so I can easily say goodbye to NetFlix and just not replace it with another service.
If their model works for you, then by all means, keep subscribing. It doesn't work for me though, not anymore, so I'm voting with my wallet.
I was wondering if that's where you where going with this. I completely understand, and have done the same thing with my music dollars back when they started copy protecting cds. In fact, I may well go to a 2 dvd plan, as I doubt I've seen 16 movies in the last two months.
As a Netflix DVD subscriber, I'm rather happy that they've decided to change their plans and maintain their current services. Has any of this drama impacted your service? Are you now buying DVDs or Blurays at $15-$30 each? Also, I'm glad to not be subsidizing all of those instant view customers any more.
If the Galaxy S2 my coworker just got is any example, Samsung execs will not only have to match his death, but die even more impressively. I'd expect group seppuku (or whatever they do in Korea).
Ah, but during the "I try to settle our differences like adult human beings, with language" phase, you'll both realize whether or not a conflict still exists and the quote then fits.
I think the actual download and install was during the "Leave computer, or hell play something else for a while..." phase. On my Road Runner Turbo(tm) cable internet, that's usually less than an hour. Also, the last few games I've purchased have actually come on multiple DVDs and still require annoying disk swaps.
Plenty of modern LCD displays use dynamic back-lighting to improve contrast and low light detail.
From wikipedia: "Since the total amount of light reaching the viewer is a combination of the backlighting and shuttering, modern sets can use "dynamic backlighting" to improve the contrast ratio and shadow detail. If a particular area of the screen is dark, a conventional set will have to set its shutters close to opaque to cut down the light. However, if the backlighting is reduced by half in that area, the shuttering can be reduced by half, and the number of available shuttering levels in the sub-pixels doubles."
As Decimate means "removal of a tenth", wouldn't the proper use be dependent upon the original force being a multiple of 10, and exactly that 1/10th being removed? It seems like this would be rather rare.
Now that you mention it, they once replaced Coca-Cola with a new formulation that was similar to Pepsi. They relegated the original to "Coca-Cola Classic". I'm not quite sure when they quit doing that.
As one of the people that was happy to switch to dvd-only and save a few bucks, now I can't even tell people I use Netflix. I hope they don't expect me to be mentioning watching movies from Qwikster.
If he did this in any largish city, he'd quickly have a number of cars change lanes to be in front of him and waste any advantage timing the light would gain.
I think you may be overestimating the capabilities of the "at worst" home schooling parent. For a school to match a very bad parent would require every teacher to be just as bad, and even then, at least the teachers had training and degrees in education.
You could always use mirrors. Just aim the sun's output to a solar collector in your yard. should be fine.

I'd be curious to know how many times that tape you mention has been reused. I'd bet it wasn't very many.

That only means that they would lower speed limits or increase other tickets until profits are back up.
What is with the ****-ton of posts criticizing people for not saying FUCK FUCK FUCK lately? I've seen at least 5 in the last month.

...Slashdot's moderation system is utter shit...
Coming from MrHanky, wouldn't that be a complement?

That somehow reminds me of this video (Feeding chips to a car's subwoofer).

You think XP on modern hardware screams, you should try win3.1. It boots in less than 1/10th of a second from dos (which doesn't take long either).

I figure China admitting to their hacking program is about as likely as the US owning up to the real reason for invading the middle east
