I'm saying a guy, presumably the landowner, with a gun in his truck, is not even slightly threatening unless he's brandishing it. As far as I'm concerned it's just some dude taking pictures.
Then again, I walk around with a pistol strapped to my hip every day. So I probably have a different perspective on things than your average San Franciscan.
I'm something of a determinism guy, aside from the quantum jazz, which last I heard and so I understand is actually random. On the macro scale, thinking, as it were, I'm not so sure that's supremely relevant.
Anyway, I think what we have is the illusion of free will, and that suffices just fine for the my purposes and the purposes of the human condition IMHO.
Now, my Matrix reference:
Free will is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth. What truth? That you are a slave. Like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born inside a prison that you cannot smell, taste, or touch. A prison for your mind.
I'll take ray tracing, TYVM. I think if ray tracing had near the amount of resources invested in specialized hardware, I think we'd see things like this, and this in our games.
I think that the problem is that there have been so few justified wars in history. Trying to write a pro-war piece, for:
1. An aggressive war. 2. A war which doesn't directly involve your country. 3. A war against an enemy which doesn't pose you a significant threat in the future.
is an exercise in head-bashing futility, in my opinion.
I don't mean to belittle your comment, but think about the summary of what you said: Unjustified wars are hard to justify.
On the flip side of the coin, I'd find it quite easy to write a pro-war piece for the American Revolutionary War, the Civil War (from the side of the south). I could probably write up something pretty convincing for the dissolution (peaceable or violent) of the union today.
Then again I think you knew you were stating the obvious, and I'm not sure where I'm going with this other than to say: Justified wars don't need propaganda.

Using a "mostly secure" CA can introduce it's own security problems, but as far as I know their track record is pretty good.

Granted, the pitch is lower, but it has the same tone as a violin or cello.
I imagine it's generated (DNRTFA), but it sounds a lot like a violin.
Desalination on the scales we're talking about has the potential for serious environment impact.
I also seem to recall hearing about desalination causing earthquakes, but I can't find the link.
I DNRTFA, but compensation includes benefits and options.
Additionally, and more to the point, the environment has a huge impact on the salary I'll require.
In the words of a friend of mine: My ability to tolerate bullshit is commensurate with my salary.
Yup, just like salt.
I hate to rain on your Malthusian-oblivious parade, but drinking water's going to be a very serious problem real soon (relatively speaking).
I predict that you'll eat those words one day.

I think I speak for a lot of us here when I say: What a punch of pussies.
Nevermind all that Constitution stuff...
But even more crippled by idealism. Well where do I sign up?
He would, but she's a nazi GM.
You're better off.
I love the Netflix Brick. BSG S1E1 - 383 floppies.
Thank pasta storage technology has advanced.
... you have a problem.
I was really looking forward to playing Spore too. Oh well.

The mere mention of Hitler does not satisfy the requirements of a Godwin. Even direct comparisons don't necessarily equate to a Godwin.

I'm not totally clear yet, but I think we're looking at two different miniature projector technologies.
One of which uses 3 lasers (RGB) and a single mirror directly project the image.
The other, which I'm fuzzy on, claims to use DLP, and presumably a bulb of some sort.
Your logic and facts have no place in politically charged public discourse.
In Soviet Russia, the web surfs you!
Chalk me up as one of those people who still doesn't care about HD. I 'back up' my DVDs to my HTPC at 1300kbps vbr anyway.
It was actually a (as in one) centimeter.
