You've been able to take wikipedia with you for years. Lots of people do it with Tomeraider, but I get the impression there's a number of options. I first did it 2003ish and I got the impression it had been around a while then.
My initial reaction when I read about the Revolution controler was, "no way, it can't actually work." But everything I've read where people tried the Wii, as well as the fact that Nintendo has the gall to sell the thing, gets me more and more believing that it will actually work. This is nearly incomprehensible to me, but if it does, which I'll bet it does, it will be glorious.
I have known people who had them. It is kind of a niche market, but people always bought them. They have somewhat been replaced in the last few years with the little portable DVD players. There are people interesting in portable video, be it not everyone. The real problem with something like an iPod for it is that it is quite small a screen. However, there are (I'm sure) people that would be glad to deal with it when on a plane or public transportation or camping or otherwise travelling or for any number of reasons. It could also be useful for businesspeople who could show clips and such to clients on one, if necesary.
Something doesn't have to be mainstream to be useful.
Dear AC, he was saying that sarcasm is non-insightful.

At least you can identify it as a troll. The current modding on it is "flaimbait," which is what brought it into my threshold. Not nearly as interested in trolls as baits.
The problem comes with the article poster's claiming that they "use iPods to view medical images." No one RsTFA, seeing that it ought to have been more clearly phrased, as the CNN article (and the title of the/. article) does, "use [iPods] to store medical images."
I can't believe you would make such a negative blanket statement about every country and culture like that. You are quite possibly the biggest racist on earth.
Sorry, but I don't buy the google altruistic angle - they did this so they could better serve us ads. This is all about information, and who controls it. I doubt highly that it had anything at all to do with improving anyone's way of life. Google is a corporation, it's primary motive is, and always will be, profit.
I don't see how Mr. Buchheit's comment that he "designed Gmail in hopes of it improving the way we communicate" negates that Google does things with the intent of making profit. Just because you do something to make a profit, it doesn't mean that you do not have hopes it will accomplish good things.
If I designed a bridge, I would hope it would help the way people transported. This does not mean that I am not doing it because I wanted to make money. It does not mean I am claiming some kind of altruism. If people didn't think gmail was improving their life in some way, there would be no one to advertise to.
They're only operating in the UK so they bought http://www.gmail.co.uk/ instead (before google bought gmail.com)
Indeed they did. And Google has no right to gmail.co.uk. However, my comment was that "If this company wanted gmail.com, they should have bought it." It so happens that GoogleMail is at gmail.com, and CCMS's gmail is at gmail.co.uk. Just as Javeo operates a site at gmail.net. CCMS's having the legitamite service called GMail in the UK does not mean that Google is not allowed to abbreviate the names of their services anywhere on the internet. If I go to bn.com, that doesn't mean the the company name is bn rather than Barnes & Noble, Inc.
I really don't see why the gmail.com URL cannot just be an abbreviation of the name of the service: Google Mail. If this company wanted gmail.com, they should have bought it. They did not, leaving it up to any kind of service to legally use it with their own, non-infringing service.
According to wikipedia (not written by me, random that both my examples are there), "A noodle is a thin strip of pasta, usually cut or extruded from some kind of dough. It is the basic unit in dishes like spaghetti, linguine, soba, and udon."
Though pasta differs from ramen or udon or soba or lo mein noodles, pasta is also a type of noodle (sheet pastas shape pastas might not be, but for my example, I don't see why it should not be a noodle.)
I'm not sure why you mean by "the times I treated myself to Italian I was just eating repackaged noodles." Dried pastas are not repackaged in the sense that something like ramen is, if that is what you are suggesting, as they are still raw.
I think someone decided free laptop was easier than basic schooling.

Finally? Not finally.

Yeah, man. That guy. is so retarded. Thanks for enlightening us. with your knowledge.
You don't need to be a monopoly to produce nothing innovative. Look at all the other search engines!
I hope not. I hate child porn and all that, but that doesn't mean that big brother should be watching everything.
Just to be clear, I believe the COPA is designed to keep children from seeing porn, not from being the subjects of porn.
Does it run Linux?
Now this is libel or something.
Redundant? Troll, I'd buy. Flamebait, I'd buy. Redundant? Who else had said that? It was the 4th post, the only along these lines.
I thought it was offered free? So where's the problem?

I don't think they will be strong enough to quite use the sky as the limit. A screen a few feet away would be cool, though.

In Korea, old people talk on USENET.

I considered moderating you down as flamebait for cussing.

In First Contact it is mentioned that a Borg cube is kept at 92% humidity. I guess we now know how they know.

Yahoo tries all the time, to no avail, if I understand correctly.
