Dude, no need to get all up ons, y'know.

    You're missing a zero. 00000-99999 is 100,000 different combinations.
D'oh! I said 100000 the first time (when I actually thought about 10^5.) This time I tried to use one more digit and came up quizically wrong.

  3. Re:My Luggage on Keyboard Sound Aids Password Cracking · · Score: 1

I suspect it is (in reality) much higher than that

You just don't get math. You see, you have 5 digits, each of which can be anything from 0-9. That's ten possibilities in each place. You have 1xxxx, 2xxxx, and so forth. Then each of those has ten possibilities in each place (11xxx, 12xxx... 21xxx...), giving 100. Follow this through, and you get 10000. Since 12345 is a single, unique 5 digit number it has one occurrence.

1 possibility out of the 10000. Quite simple, really.

    Hope you've learned something.

There was some bad blood a while back, was there not?

It's the most likely explanation I can come up with, at least. Apple tends to be better in what they put out, and Moto has impressed me in a number of their phone products in the somewhat recent past.

One question they haven't answered ... Whats the point of a keyboard where every key is a screen ?

They showed and talked about multi-language layouts and program-specific layouts. If you want to type in more than one other language than English, you are apt to need multiple keyboards. Yes, you can touch-type on a keyboard with any layout, but I find it takes a while to learn if the language has a different alphabet.

Then it can really help to learn keyboard controls in different programs, photoshop being a great example. (I bet the people at the company would have loved one while photoshopping their keyboard into existance.)

Instructing people how one would retain the services of a prostitute or how to get involved with music piracy is different than running something where you promote and set up the illegal activity.
