Thankyou!
I can't even describe how much this bothered me; especially as someone who spent 15 hours in a Canadian November line to get the Wii at launch.
I don't even own any online supported games at the moment, but being able to Youtube, etc. from my bed would be great.
Finally my prayers were answered when I managed to snag one of the FON wi-fi routers from a recent free giveaway.
Nintendo: ETHERNET. PORT. PLEASE.
Think of the wired children.
Yeah, then there is the whole process of getting the rest of the code from the Klingons and Cardasians and then the little hiccup at the end with the Romulans.
The 3000+ is the model I chose when I recently decided to get a new machine after my old one (Pentium 3 @ 450mhz with 196mb ram) was starting to show it's age. I could have gone crazy and blew a ton of money on a more cutting edge chip, but I decided that the 3000+ coupled with ATi's x800 card and 512 of ram will do fine, and it has. UT2k4 will run great at 1280x1024 with all details cranked and 20 bots on. Call of Duty 2 demo ran fine, and I expect similiar performance for CS:CZ.
All in all a great price/performance chip to round out a pretty decent (though by no means cutting edge) gaming setup IMHO.
Microsoft selling anti-virus and anti-spyware solutions is like being asked to pay for a bandaid when you have a broken leg. If MS really wants to get into protecting its users from such threats, it should be focusing on the one place that only it has control over: the code.
Some will no doubt be turned off by the fact that DRM is built into the Cell hardware. Sony is a media company and like the rest of the industry that arm of the company are no doubt pushing for DRM type solutions. It must also be noted that the Cell is destined for HDTV and BluRay / HD-DVD systems, any high definition recorded content is going to be very strictly controlled by DRM so Sony have to add this capability otherwise they would be effectively locking themselves out of a large chunk of their target market. Hardware DRM is no magic bullet however, hardware systems have been broken before - including Set Top Boxes and even IBM's crypto hardware for their mainframes.
So while the current Apple lineup is DRM free, not all IBM PPC powered machines are quite so lucky.
I was thinking more along the lines of a universe where Win95 would actually run.
I know Linus isn't exactly thin, but that was just hurtful.
Done. R4 card + microSD card + moonshell + DSOrganize
Care to elaborate into a % of the LoC as carried by an African swallow per hogshead?

Indecent exposure reduced to a lesser charge, eh?
Using the term virginal as part of a description of Slashdot readers is a tad redundant, wouldn't you say?
Geeze, no wonder my Ubuntu install has seemed so slow lately.

How many data centers would it take to equal the amount of Coke cans that need to be generated for Google?
Love, sex, secret and God; so would her holiness care to change her password?
This is slashdot, we're happy just to be on the launchpad.

Warning: do not hump the GameBoy Micro.
I encourage Google to stick it's toe in the water in this area and see what improvements it can try and make. The more instant messangers the better.
As long as they don't invent a new messaging protocol. Use jabber; keep it open; be happy.
If Metroid Prime has taught me anything its that exposure to massive amounts of normally deadly radiation can yeild amazing results.
I for one welcome our Elite Pirate overlords.
Hillbilly #1: Dangit, Buck, I wanna use the sex box.
Hillbilly #2: It's *my* sex box. And her name is Sony.
Yes because /. is known widely on the Internet as huge fans of MS's products, thus being a prime audience for such 'free advertising'.
When I want to break CSS I just view the document in IE.
I just knew there was something fishy about google.ca!
Do no evil? *pfft* Yeah right!
I also felt a great disturbance in the force... as if Mac users accross the globe laughed out loud and were suddenly modded down into oblivion ;)
I believe a third party patch is available for that.

Who better to enlist the help of in the search for WMD's than Google.
