It really sounds like this issue was brought up by some teenager from japan, who recently move to the US.

Firstly, these Japanese pop bands, just like pop bands outside of the two major music producing areas (USA and UK, with exceptions now and again), are very simple and derivative. Even by pop music standards. They are only really popular, because people want to hear songs in their own language.

Secondly, just because Apple can sell those songs technically, doesn't mean they can legally. You addressed this issue.

Slashdot, maybe we can stay away from the teenage blogs.

Guess some j-pop fans caught mod points today. I feel your pain about Japanese music, though. "Insanely great " might be stretching things.

Maybe I was a bit harsh, I don't hate j-pop anymore than any other pop music. I thought that it was generally agreed about how bad pop music is in all countries. I guess not. Sorry that I upset someones sensibilities.

I am used to being sent to 0, but not so fast.

You would think that companies such as Dell and HP would see the value in having another OS to choose, and would actively support Linux. I know people fall for this stuff all the time, but it is so obvious and annoying. The one on UK tv I really hate is the people applying for home loans "really, i will save how much, that is amazing" - yeah, thanks for that.

He's worked his way to a level of wealth and power most people only dream of, and his face is like a road-map of pain and desperation. I wouldn't want to be inside his head on the day he shuffles off this earth.

This might make you feel better when you yourself haven't advanced much, but it still a load of rubbish. Working at advancing isn't anymore stressful than any other kind of work, and is a necessary part of the process of advancement. You can bury your head in the sand, and insist that while at work, you will only program, and not pursue any social contacts, but that is your choice. Myself, I will work hard at both.

Well, we really should be trying to reduce the problem. The only problem is, you can't really do this on a country by country basis. You really need to reduce the world population (especially in some areas), and it is difficult to do this from inside a country, and outside it has bearing of being a racist. This will not really happen until we have a world government. And we can't really have a world government with rogue nations running around doing anything they want.

I can't believe that I have just given some small justification to the George Bush case for world domination.

Don't get me wrong, I will never by a PSP or another sony product again (the cameras were ok), for the many attrocties they have done on the buying product (and I don't count the price of the PS3 amoung them), but lets stop knocking them for every little thing they do.
