You are a genious. So you have already researched EVERY company you deal with, and made sure that they will not be switching over? Sure, you and I understand that you shouldn't move over to a new OS until you have done some serious testing, but not everybody does. Can you guarantee that? No, dickhead, this is the whole point.
Maybe you could actually answer this point. Or has burying your head in the sand worked out well for you so far?
So since you are the new comer, maybe you can save your interesting stories about what you are or are not going to do, and start posting something relevant. This can turn out to be a problem for all of us, whether or not we choose to use Windows. (What will you do when the toy store you get your lego sets refuses to sell you anything becuase their POS is down? Cry?)
You are a fool. What about all the companies that you have to deal with, who WILL be using Vista, your phone comapny, gas, electricity, water, council, taxi, airline, shopping... the list is almost endless. When they stop working, what are you going to do?
It is not a problem that can be solved by abstaining.
Has the NY Times reviewer ever developed a game console?
So I guess we should only have reviews from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft - should they review their own consoles, or each others? They already review their own, they are called press releases. You would be happy with these, they often don't mention other products.
So, how disjointed from reality are you? How do these things compare? I said you should go write a review, you think nytimes should go develop a console? He is the reviewer, he clearly has an idea about what he likes, and he doesn't like. And he has listed some of the things that annoyed him about PS3.
Fucking PS3 fanbois, can't you go find your own site...
Despite your dislike for the NYtimes, (One of the better newspapers, IMHO), you need to remember that this revied is aimed at the average person, not the Computer elite who have been reading about the PS3 for years. Most people won't know what a PS3 is all about, why it is better than the PS2, and you need to make comparisons to other similar items.
Who the fuck are you to make up rules about what how a review should be structured? Have you ever written a review for anything? Clearly not!
You realize that the power button was the only form of exercise most gamers were getting, especially now with the ability to download games. This button alone will now add 10% on the average weight of all Americans.
For the prices they are selling for on ebay, you can't afford not to get a PS3. I am beginning to think that these people who are waiting in lines are the true smart guys. $1300 profit at least, for a days work. Not bad. I wonder if anyone who actually waited in line will be playing the thing.
But seriously, memory would seem to the next thing. The already have L1 and L2 caches, why not move all of memory on board. As long as CPUs keep shrinking, there is no reason not to do this. Sure, you can still have a memory bus to external memory, if you want to upgrade.
Sure, there isn't a great deal of difference, except that you rest your hand on the mouse, whereas the wii controller is ment to be waved about in the air. How much extra strain will this add, who knows? I guess we will find out soon, how many people get sick of it.
So the people from Flatland don't get to dream of their Mars colonies, do they? Kind of elitist of you, isnt it? You and your extra dimension can do jump.
Well, it wouldn't be stranger than fiction, it would exactly the same level of strangeness. If they were using ground up smurfs, then yes, that would be stranger than fiction.
The fact is the PS3 is more exciting in a lot of ways, and if you don't have to pay for it, it is easy to pick the PS3 over the Wii. Of course, most of us have to pay for it, unless some journalist prick.
Who is going to subsidise this? Not apple, not Microsoft, not any company, that is for sure.
It is not like any company is getting something huge out of this. It is good press for Apple and the relevant airline companies, but not much more. Are that many people really going to change their flights over this? It just make Apple look more ubiqitous, at a time when Microsoft, a huge company, is releasing a rival. And it makes the Airline companies look a bit more consumer friendly.
OK, so I guess you have never been to a meeting or lecture than is going to go on for an extra 30 minutes, and you might want to warn your girlfriend you will be late to meet her... oh, of course not, silly me.
Ok, don't get too upset. Texting came about as a cheap way to send a message, because calling on a mobile phone was quite expensive, even for a minute. There are also occasions when you want to communicate with someone, and not talk, like in the theatre, or a lecture, or a meeting. But these days, texting is very popular, because it is still cheaper, so in reality, it is just a way on encoding your voice message differently, and it is one way.
I am sure that soon we will have readers for our text messages, and then your dream will be complete.
Yes, it is now more of a communication device, and can handle different type of communications, from text, voice, data, fax, email and video. Of course, some people handle change better than others, and some are still amazed. I mean the name is different, mobile phone and telephone, but don't let that stop you from getting excited.
You know, it doesn't take being a computer journalist to realise that any chip released in the last 3 years is a waste of money for most people. Most people mainly use the computer for broswing the net, and despity Intels previous claims, a faster processor won't make any difference. And despite adverts on UK tv reporting that with the new dual cores, you can read email and listen to music, you don't need a 4 core or 2 core to do any of that.
The whole thing is a joke, for most people. Like cars that go 1000 mph, what is the point!

Sure, but how many of those 200 photos are worth keeping? That is the question.
You are a fool. What about all the companies that you have to deal with, who WILL be using Vista, your phone comapny, gas, electricity, water, council, taxi, airline, shopping... the list is almost endless. When they stop working, what are you going to do?

Incompetence, in the UK, with IT projects. But that is unpossible!

Yes, 7.

I predict the hard-drive?

The way I see it if I die in 30 years or 3 months, I am still going to die.
The difference of when we run out is important, don't try and minimise ut.
Extra points because it could detect my name. Brilliant!
John

Yeah, I agree. I haven't used a computer for years!

Simple, IBM don't really focus on low power chips, but Intel do. For Intel, it is all about the laptops. For IBM, it is about power, CPU power.
The world is going laptops crazy, and Apple knows it.
Who do you think is doing all the vandalising?

Here is another for you: Microsoft products are about as robust as a bucket of water, without the bucket.
Ah, the magic of the english language.
