    They won't be able to patent it, but they will be able to patent the method the use to synthesize the molecule. They will be aiming for somethign that is quite complex to make, to increase the benefit of their product. They might even make a derivative, which is slightly different, but many a study will show has much better results.

    This sort of spam is used to detrain spam filters. They send a message like this with random text, but no links, so the filter thinks it looks like spam, but it has no other characteristics so it is not. This detrains the text processing part of the filter. Then they can send similar messages with links, and they have a higher chance of getting through.

    Or else somebody has a really weird sense of humour.

    You might want to do what I do, and write your own resumes. Seriously, put on a more meaningful title, and put a list of the main activities that you did. Then, explain this in the interview.

    Great post. Most people seem to think that if you go to Universtiy, rock up to the tutorials and pass all the exams, then you are guaranteed some sort of job. Good workplaces look for something more, they want evidence that you are going to care about your work as opposed to just doing the requisite hours. They need to know that you will do the job properly, and not just the bare minimum to get by. This is difficult to judge from merely talking to someone, you look for clues, like what societies there were involed in at uni, what extra work they have done. I found the UK ridiculously easy to get a job in, once you learn this.

    And you know, slashdot is only one person, not a group of people.

    I really enjoy when morons talk about Slasdhot as though it were a single entity, rather than a group of distinct people, with different opinions, and different viewing habits. Some people check slashdot every hour at work, some once a week. Some people have a great sense of humour and some don't. Some are just plain annoying.

    As to you final statement, every studies logic? Do you have any evidence to suggest that these are the same bunch of people, or are you just grouping all slashdotters together again, because it makes things easy.

    Despite the large number of incompetent programmers out there, there efforts pale in comparison to Managers screw ups. Also, as programmers, there is something more perversely enjoyable about reading about these type of screw ups.

    But it is, I can say anything I won't on an online forum or instant message, there is nothing illegal.

    It is when you use the internet to do illegal things in the real world. I can arrange to meet a 13 year old kid for sex as much as I want, but when I actually turn up, that is when it gets illegal. I can offer to sell you a bridge every day, but when I actually take your money, that is when problems arise.

    Good stuff. I have heard some people having quite a problem in small claims court. You should write up your experience, and why you think it went so well, could really help a lot of people out.

    More people should do this, and you can help this happen.

    Maybe the link references a paper, with a link to the pdf. I don't think that this is so hard to believe, especially when most people don't even understand what download means? What is the different between going to a webpage and downloading a webpage?

    If you can't argue them on the points, then put words into their mouths. It makes it much easier to win when you control both sides of the argument.

    They aren't saying this, but they are saying (correctly of incorrectly) is that Violent video games can also make people violent. This is something that is very difficult to prove is wrong. Have you noticed yourself getting more aggressive in anyway after playing a game? How can you, who looks for these things and analyses themselves so much? Nobody.

    This is the cause with all of History to a greater extent. How much of History contains mention of the pleb who died at the age of 20 after working hard in the field? None. How about the Roman Soldier who fought valiantly on the field before being beheaded by Alexander the great. None.

    Wikepedia is a lot less one-sided then any other record we have for History.
