They should bundle some music with the ipods - free music, like classical music, or even a bunch of free bands that just want some exposure. (Or even the beatles, just to piss Apple off)

Sure, it really depends what you do with this information - and this is what the police are looking at. To see if anything fraudulent has happenend.
It is like if you buy a house, and find some old bank information, then go take everything out of the account - this is illegal, despite your belief that you have found a treasure chest.

I like the blog, but I am not sure why he didn't follow the usual channels, getting money from paypal - which is not actually that hard.
And I or any sensible person would not buy anything from someone with 1 positive feedback, especially not a £350 laptop. And this bidder, unlike my gf who I would expect to do something like this, is obviously reasonable technically literate.
I would like to put up Aliens, the second version up as well. The directors cut added nothing to this movie. In some situations, there is a reason that parts of the movie are cut, and this is the first movie that made me realise this simple fact. The directors cut screws up the timing, removes some suspense, and adds nothing.
I too have heard many bad stories about paypal, but recently had a good experience where they refunded some of my money because the seller didn't send the right equipment. Went very smoothly. This doesn't mean that they haven't done bad, just not to me. I find them far too convenient for me to not use them, at least in the UK - in Australia it wasn't so bad, since there is no problem in handing over your bank details.
Ebay, on the other hand, really suck. They owe me $34. And there is no way I can get this of off them. bastards!
Hey, just be assured if you don't know the acronyms, you will probably not be interested in the story. You don't have to click on every story, show some constraint.
It really annoys me that companies can ask such a thing of a family man. Such position really needs to be given to someone who is just starting out at the company, before they are saddled with a family. There need to be greater emphasis on giving these people travelling work - sure they are not quite as experienced, but that only counts for so much.
You don't care so much that you made time out of your busy day to not only click on and read the story, but post a comment as well. That level of uncaring really is to be commended. I wish people did not care about the environemnt as much as you don't care about this story - we wouldn't be in the mess we are in today!
Ha, my girlfriend just got an ipod - the new 60 gb black version. Look great, but the software is a piece of shit. Can't upload photos (glad it has a slidehow option), can't change track names once they are on the ipod. Cant find out hot to put stuff from a cd onto the ipod without saving it to my harddrive - what a piece of crap. I thought sony could only pull of this crap. And the crappy manual they give you doesn't tell you anything at all.
Seems like pretty common sense stuff to me? It is like when I learnt not to get hit by a car, won't be making that mistake again. Who the hell is making decisions at Nintendo?
Spoken as someone who really doesn't like school (like most school students). This line is a mistake: The public school system is used to maintain social control, not educate. should read The public school system is used to maintain social control, and educate. You have clearly never looked at the system from anyside except the side of the students. Schooling a bunch of kids is not an easy thing to do, and while the system is not perfect, censhorship is not part of the problem. Schools legally have to employ censorship on the machines - this is for a number of reasons. You implemented a system to go around this. This puts students at risk - sure your punishment was perhaps too harsh, but one also needs to consider your previous record to make a correct judgement on this, one you will most likely not give.
I've seen many posts from you- I know you've been around for a while.

You are not kidding - this must be some sort of record. Shit man, you could have designed and built a wii yourself if you harnessed the time you spent commenting...
OK, maybe I am being a tad cynical. I know there are people out there who treat their kids like this (not to the same extent that you just described, but letting the tv entertain their kids during the holidays), and I feel the need to speak up against this sort of thing. (Because I like being a pain in the ass)
Nice conclusion except with the ps3 option you get a brand new HD tv, whereas with the Wii you get a whole pile of games and that is it.
What would anyone do with two wiis anyway.
I think sony is really looking at the bigger picture, which includes blu-ray. They have decided to go after blu-ray adoption first, and if this works for them, it will be a boon. Controlling the next dvd media will be very financially rewarding for them. This is the route they are going down to achieve it.
Yeah, but to be honest the original story was ripped apart. I don't think we want a whole story dedicated to a lot of people saying I told you so, and other decrying the end of journalism on slashdot/the guys blogg when neither of these represent serious journalism. Sure the original shouldn't have been given a story to itself either, but that is another issue.
This is true for all j2me phones. The run in a java sandbox, so have really limited abilities. This is the way they were designed, so no use getting upset at Motorola about it. If you find a phone that supports symbian (like some nokias) you have better control over the phone.
So what exactly happened to Sony - some bad press, that I only saw on the tv news once. Has anybody stopped buying sony gear? Has their share price dropped? Are they in court? No, no, no... so nothing has actually happened to Sony over this. Sure, we may hate them here and a few over places on the net, but most people don't care enough. I hated them before because of Atrac and their crappy software.
Personally I prefer 'perks', but heh each to there own.
I always wondered if anyone really bought those granny porn mags. Seems the answer is yes.
I guess you can just hope they are too bust with all the terrorists that seem to inhabit Airports these days.
Guard: Hey, that guy is breaking into a vending machine.
2nd Guard: Well, he ain't no terrorist then. He aint our jurisdiction.
Yeah, I bet hes not even fat.

Don't be silly. Like all people, he uses his Dell to do any real work. :)

Take your kids outside you bastard... Hate to have you as a dad.

Nice one speedy gonzales - does it really take you 30 minutes to write this trash.
Nah, im just kidding, your great...really.
Isn't that a new api though? No, JSR 75 (just checked) so you are right.
I don't think Christian fundamentalists would have a problem with this, since they eat the body of Christ and drink the blood of Christ every week.
I think they make a valid point with fetus killing. How do you determine exactly when a fetus has life? It is not an easy question to answer.
