Are you sure? I mean, is it really part of the job description for being a nerd to like the Austin Powers movies? Surely you jest. I like to think of myself as a nerd of the highest caliber, and I can see liking a certain amoung of Star Wars and Star Trek as being important, but can't quite see the relevance for including Austin Powers?

To me it seems that the Coalition denies or plays down any casualties or problems they face, untill they are proven to be wrong one way or the other.

You mean that they outright lie. The media lies, President Bush, Prime Minister Blair all outright lie, and they call this a strategy, to make the US look good, keep the troops moral up.

A lot of people are upset about Iraqis tactic in the war, as your post seems to imply that you are. But consider what the army and people of the US would do to protect there own homeland from an invading force. Despite what Bush want you to believe, this is how most iraqis see the war, as an invasion of their homeland. This is the problem with CNN, it tries to justify war, by putting forward the idea that the US is saving these people. Al-Jazeera is not.

This is a very simplistic view of things. The fact is, Iraq hasn't done anything deserving war, so people don't agree that there should be a war. Milosevic invaded kosovo, and the first gulf war involved an invasion of kuwait.

Breaking this down to a republican vs democrate issue is very simplistic indeed.
