The Soviet program far far far outweighed anything the US government did in that arena.
How the fuk do you know that... we know pretty much what the soviets did, but how much research has the US government done??? Any idea... no you fuking dont, you have no idea, because its still all secret!
Way good advice, but a lot of student wont take it up. They have a problem disassociating money with happiness, because they are so poor.
This is the key i think. Do what you enjoy, not whatever rakes in the money, and it seems a lot of people are into CS now, because of the money, and this really annoys me. Would you rather be poor and happy, or rich and unhappy??
Better this than they start price fixing- or Mhz fixing. In the current situation it seems that the consumers are the winner. But if AMD and Intel started colluding, which i don't think is illegal in the USA, then the companies will win at your expense.
and thats not all....
After seeing "The Empire Strikes Back", some people
got the idea that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's
real father. Although "Makin' Wookie" doesn't clear
this up, it does reveal how an ancestor of Princess
Leia befriends Yoda, who organizes the Jedi Knights,
comprised of Darth Vader (then a young idealist in
love with Lando Calrissian's great-aunt) and Obi-Wan
Kenobi, who defend the Wookies when their home, the
planet Kazhyyyk, is overrun by droids (film No. 11,
"Cut and Droid")

How many authors have an award named after them???
Yes, Defn Philip K Dick, the one authour i would ride all around town, checking out the second hand book stores, every few weeks. (I think at this time there are at least five other people who picked Dick...not bad)
I didnt used to mind ctp, i was pretty good at civ2 so i thought these skills carried over to ctp. Maybe it was just a civ fix though. I remember on the Aployton forums some hardcore civ fans started playing these games, were you try to win the game with only ONE city. You were not allowed to own anymore that one city, if you accidently got a city you had to destroy it. Off course you had to play on the hardest level.
I tried this with CTP, and it only took 2 games to win... disappointing!
It feels like old school civ, but much nicer.. Very clean art, smooth animations, decent music.. The interface is updated quite nicely..
Are you playing it on the same hardware... i dont think so. This is not really what i want to hear about the game. Who gives a shit about the graphics, have you actually played the game... come on buddy, what about the actuall game.
I agree... things dont bode well when small companies with good ideas cant make it. Transmeta has a very good product, but hasnt seemed to make it too far in the consumer device market, Intel have things too sewn up???
The leap from 1Ghz to 2Ghz took considerably less time than that. I know we're all sick of hearing about the widely-misunderstood Moore's Law, but shouldn't somebody out there be screaming bloody murder at this, that it should be out much sooner, that Intel is going to cave in, etc.?
Once again... Moores Law talks about the increase of transistors on a chip, not the speed of the chip itself. So you can not use it to reason that speeds will increase!!!!!
Good point... what is Americas biggest export, no not computer parts, but weapons. On the one hand they do seem to promote peace in these parts of the world, but then they sell these weapons all over the world... a questionable policy. Have they actually achieved peace... no, so it begs the question, is this a smokescreen, and is peace really intended.
(Of course peace in this region is very difficuly so maybe not)
Dont feel so bad, the fact is that trailer and advert writers are some of the most talented people in hollywood, and can turn a 2 hour piece of crap, into something we all want to see.... utter genious!
and media manipulation since i watched CNN last night... truly shocking.

It never really bothered me that much that the AI cheated, since it is does make the game harder, and not unfairly so, since the AI is so weak. Although that is the thing that i am looking forward to the most, a clever AI... stuff the other crap, pretty graphics, more options doesnt interest me that much, only the AI.
Maybe i should just get into more multiplayer games!
I too used to believe that DaVinci's Workshop was a worthy wonder, but when you realise that it reduces all your Veteran Units to non-veteran, i never built it again...
I have exams coming up over the next 4 weeks, can someone please ask Sid to hold of until afterwards. I have absolutely no games on my computer, but dont know if i could hold off once civ 3 has been released.
So what's a computer buyer to do? Simple-- buy from whoever's cheaper. Save yourself $200, and try not to worry too much about remembering if your box is 2% faster or 2% slower than the other one as you surf the web.
Salesman are wiley bastards... when the average person spends $2000-3000 on a computer, they wont the one that is going to keep them happy for the longest, so they arent forced to upgrade again so soon. This is why the go for the fastest machine!

Sounds like you need to clear off for a few weeks, take in some sun, drink some wine, eat some good food and don't go anywhere near a keyboard.
And if you do this every few weeks, youll be fine!

Note that she didn't look hot,
