    Look, there are plenty of resources out there explaining where the money is going, if you really gave a shit. Don't expect anyone on slashdot to explain it to you, go out and read. If you are too stupid to find a good resource (like nyt, etc...) then you are probably too stupid to understand anything this complicated anyway.

    are you still stuck in 16-bit land. 32-bit x86 added more registers, and made all the registers general purpose (including bp, di, si ). And 64-bit adds even more registers.

    More registers would be good, but the main reason x86 was faster than 680x0 in the early days was because they had fewer registers.

    maybe you should try programming on a load-store machine, then you will see how few registers you can have, and still get work done.

    I don't think you quite understand the power of the shareholders, which is basically nil. Every now and then you get to vote on something, and the 3 guys with majority overrule you anyway.

    Not all shops are Microsoft shops, thank god. You can get the chance to work on some very exciting platforms, if you look around. There is nothing worse than being locked into a Microsoft shop, who see the big M as the solution for everything.

    Changing the UI for the better is good. Changing the UI for the worse is bad. Can you see how change can be good and bad? I know, it is a tricky concept to follow, but you will get there.

    Most of those changes are bullshit. New APIs, congrats, that is like every over OS upgrade, or else what is the point. UI revamp...yawn. They changed some of the stuff under the hood is handled, big fucking whoop.

    You know why people didn't want to go to XP because Win 2000 was the first good Windows OS, and it still worked well. It did everything that people wanted, so why change? XP had this stupid kindergarten theme to it, that most sensible people switched off straight away.

    Why did people eventually go to XP, becuase it wasn't that different to 2000, it wasn't that much slower, so your new computer came with it on.

    Your comment is idiotic anyway, you can still hate XP, but hate Vista more. You seem to have failed logic.
