It's too bad more people are not focusing on using technology to help us more easily make technology. Wow, I bet there is noble prize material right there.
No, that's an entreprenerial opportunity! Go at it/.ers!
Exactly, the people who understand it (that's you) use 'automagically' to dumb down/shorten an explanation because the other person doesn't have the patience/desire to hear you out.
I think this might be a crazy idea, but hear me out.
If the **AA spends wipes out common piracy, people won't be getting their free movies through BT, Kazaa or whatever. By the laws of human desire, the next cheapest way to get this content would be the knockoff DVDs right? Won't kicking people off of common piracy just make professional piracy more profitable?
My guess as to why it isn't up there is because it's often used in the context of someone who understands how something works to describe something to someone who doesn't.
Remember, people who know/care about how things work are a minority.:P
GP is advocating security through cooperation. If the exploit is not known to the public and is not being abused, developers can work together to simultaneously get patches out to a larger group of users. When they are ready, the fixes can be disclosed and everything is out in the open.
(Of course if the problem is out to the public, it should be patched as soon as possible, because paching won't aid the 'bad people' in finding out.)
Would you rather have a rushed patch or have them spend some time to do it right?
I thought the advantage of BT was the strength in large numbers approach? As more people join the swarm, there is more excess bandwidth. And the overall speed increases, right?
If you lower the cost of entry to producing a BT release, won't that mean more.torrent file swimming around? With the increase of different torrents everywhere, won't that dilute the power of BT?
There needs to be a moderation for Funny, but heart wrenching.
I see these kinds of comments about all sorts of things. When I show my little cousins new tech. They just don't give a shit. What happened to the curiosity of youth?
Not only that, but if you made a typo in the URL, you couldn't fix it because the address bra was filled with the stupid msn search crap. Unless you want to do the copy paste dance, I usually ended up retyping the whole thing.
Isn't it new for an operating system to have this kind of searching capability designed in from the start? When searching on a windows machine, you have to wait and watch as the search works it's way though all the files on the hard drive. Although the idea is not new, I think it is new to have the functionality built in. (and definitely an improvement for most people)
Fly you Fool!
Someone please mod AC up?

No really. I'm too lazy to do it myself.

Therefore fighting piracy funds terrorism.

Ah, I think I know why. It sounds like fuzz. As in fuzzy.
Or it could be that it takes waay to much effort to get to work while carrying big bags of money around.

Is it legal to post only in questions?
*Shudder* Did anyone else misinterpret that as the sound that IE makes when you click the back button?

On startup, Firefox will automatically try to connect to the site (at most once per 24h).
Future releases should allow the user to output HTML lists of the browser specific sites.
The title is a little jarring when I read it. I think thisis why.
Heh, offtopic. Looks like some of the mods didn't get it.
Imagine all of your expensive electronic devices are broadcasting their presence while you walk down the street.
*squints at ID*
Aww, never mind.

This page states that:
"Acid2 includes a number of illegal CSS statements that should be ignored by a compliant browser."
Does "Wo Hell Lord" remind anyone else of HomestarRunner?
Enjoy.
You'd better hand it in before that big bully steals it and copies your answers! Don't you remember what happened last time?!
;)
Amen.
I mean... I wholeheartedly agree. Yeah.
You would be spamming a system designed to help people.
and if such a system existed, you could be doing 80 mph while reading a newspaper (or taking a nap).
