I agree completely. They could have gotten it to work if the average actual computer was more expensive than $600, but thanks to Dell, a consumer will see the PS3 "computer" vs. the $400 Dell and see that they can do what they want with the Dell and buy that instead.
Thanks for the tips. I will try to get involved in school. The social life shouldn't be a problem with a my girlfriend going to the same school I am. I am very sure that I will prefer to go the PhD route because I abhor "computer guy" stuff. I have always found research and and experiments to be my cup of tea. I am going to a smaller private college, and there is the opportunity to triple major in CIS. Is that an option I should be looking at or should I just stick with a double major. Thanks again.
Im goin to college starting this fall for a double major in CS and Math. I was thinking about eventually goin for a PhD but i don't know how soon, might be 5-10 years after i graduate for that. I was wondering if anyone has any good advice for me.
I heard that Dell was the only major computer builder not using AMD. I suspect this is part of their scheme to start using AMD chips. Just my own personal conspiracy theory...
Personally, I can't answer your questions about STALKER being up to par b/c i may be one of the few that didn't find FEAR that great. I played halfway through and then promptly got bored. I then returned to my secret addiction: The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. I'm really lookin forward to TES4: Oblivion. That will be an amazing FPRPG (First Person Role Playing Game).
I think they should give it to a CS (thats computer science, not counter-strike) student. This might help increase the number of CS students. I heard that this number was going down recently even though i plan to start next semester as a CS/Math student. I could always use more money for college.

To all of you conspiracy theorists and such, this could actually be good. Think beyond the "replacement for Microsoft" argument. Seeing as how Google is expanding and Microsoft if just Microsoft. The more companies that become bigger means the more threat to Microsoft, and even Google to a certain degree. As long as there are companies who can threaten such giants, be they other giants or just small groups (Mozilla Foundation). Competition is exactly what a capitalist society needs to thrive, otherwise it gets stale. This could cause an improved product from everybody. So dont get worried when another merger happens, just be happy that this means more competition for everbody.

Actually, Nvidia's newest 6000 line, they are linear. 6200 is less than the 6200 GT. the 6600 is better than the 6200 GT. The 6800 is better than the 6600 GT, etc. In my opinion, Nvidia has taken the correct road. ATI is still in never never land when it comes to names.
