    In the US they can. Ignoring refusing entry they can take the laptop and copy the contents (even deleted sectors) and also arrest you if you don't hand over any passwords required to access the machine.

    Been like that for a few months.

    Interesting but that only relates to TV and then only in the UK.

    Happens to some extent already, for example I believe the new season of stargate is basically a Dell advert.

    Although I have yet to see any adverts in game. Probably because I don't live in the USA and there are legal implications for doing this in the EU.

    As it stands. I pay to play the game. I don't pay to get spammed with adverts. They want to spam then they can make the game free.

    If I got ads after the fact I would make a note of them and not buy anything from that company again and I'd let them know too.

    Sadly common sense and children are rarely together. My cousins have scars from Jarts (and then darts, and penknives).

    They used to play some kind of splits/chicken. They would throw the Jart left or right to the person and the person would need to do the splits. In order for it to count it would have to be thrown in range of the other person to pick up while making them go through the pain of moving the legs further apart.

    They got jarts in thier feet and legs.

    One of them also got one in the hand after they were playing some kind of knife throwing trick that you see in the circus.

    Euroland is British slang for "Everyone in the EU except Britain". If they paid in England then they would be spending money in Sterling. Some places take Euros but it is rare and you get screwed over the exchange rate in the shop as well as your change back in Sterling.

    It is possible to have a system that works for pro-QoS people and maintain Net Neutrality.

    My ISP does it. :/

    Basically they have different tiers of speed and contention. You pay the top amount and I get 3MB line with 12:1 and 100GB download a month (after which contention shoots up).

    Lower level means if you just browse normal webpages then the speed is ok'ish.

    I can't see the QoS as anything other then trying to force other companies out of the marketplace that is the internet.

    You can always ship those guys off to another country beforehand. Keep the core military that follow you in the US.

    Not that the US doesn't have the military as it is to fully control it's own country if it ever did come to a civil war.

    Don't know why this triggered. :) But it recalls me back to more devious dungeon masters who built traps so that when you found it you were basically screwed.

    Things like using 10 foot poles to trigger traps which have been set 10 feet back from where the trigger is.

    In this case I can see the tripwires changing. Rather then catgut (fishing line) have a weaker string that reacts to the chemicals in silly string so when its sprayed the bomb goes off.

    They had something similar on TV before to show how quickly false memories develop and how big.

    They had brought about 20 people on a tour of some desert area and they bumped into a cop stopping them from going into a certain area.

    They questioned them all about a month later and the stories ranged from Aliens landing to crashed US military jet to a murder.

    Of course my recollection could be false memories too. :)

    Most already have a simple voice recognition. My phone is a year old and has it. It would need to pattern match a preset number of words and you could probably pre-program these remotely by recording the persons voice on existing phone conversations.

    With the new phones you could probably go further then that. Have it randomly listen in and then parse the conversations heard for keywords and if a keyword happened within a set time then listen in more.

    Compress what you want and then send it as burst transmission.

    Probably does more then statistics. Reminds me of a story.

    This girl and her sister are attending a funeral of their mother who has died of old age. At the funeral the girl meets this guy she never met before, both hit it off big time. However when she gets home she realises that she got no contact information so is unable to speak to him. A few days later the sister is murdered by the girl. Why?

    I recall another video on YT ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fePxLRCr1sw ) a month or so ago where this kid with his face covered is asking people egg some persons house.

    What is funny about the video is you can find other videos by the same person showing their face, people calling him by name and is account is his name.
