Amendment IV - "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
We all know, though, that the government has a very strange way of interpreting the constitution sometimes. They'll use some argument along the lines of, "Well, since we're not getting a warrent, the 4th amendment doesn't apply."
The problem isn't that comcast doesn't know about issues its customers are having.
It's that they don't actually fix the problems that customers have in a timely manner.
They have been making a noticeable effort to improve customer service though. They actively monitor and handle issues on http://getsatisfaction.com/comcast as well. It's not as responsive as online chat, but you'll get set up with someone above the unplug-it-for-15-seconds level. Often, they'll even give YOU a call.
I know how to get rid of a large chunk of illegal child porn..... Redefine the age of consent to 6 (six).
Vioala! There's that problem gone.
The problem isn't that the ISPs are helping to enforce the law. Next we'll lift the laws against shooting people. That ought to reduce a bunch of the crime in the cities.
Without laws there can be no crime!
Anarchy may not be the best form of government, but it's better than no government at all!
There's also that whole part about how warrants are required for any US citizen (regardless of current location) as well as anyone on US soil.
Of course... "However, the bill does not address President George Bush's claim that he has Article 2 constitutional authority as the commander-in-chief to order such activity during times of war." - From the same CNN article as the parent.
Who's bright idea was it to put those stupid fade-on full screen adds over webpages.
Thanks for a link to an ad. I'll skip this story and find one posted on a site that doesn't hate users.
Shooting and killing people in order to steal their stuff is good? And some skin is bad?
George Carlin said it best when he said, "I'd rather watch two people making love than two people trying to kill one another."
I'm just confused as to why parents are appauled that their children might watch porn in THIS game. If porn showed up in a game like "Sesame Street: Count with the Count" then I could understand the upset, but Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas? I wonder what would happen if porn showed up in some older game?
Another good thing to do is to get to know the people in the rooms around yours. That way you get the added protection of people keeping an eye out for suspicious behavior, or, if they're kindof shady themselves, you know to keep an eye on them.

Maybe they do care after all.

But I digress; ISPs are the new ceiling cats.

That'd be an interesting one to see played out.
Aye!!! Let's kick it off with some good old fashioned defenestration!
"cooperation from ISPs"
If that means what I think it means I hope it doesn't happen.
Besides.... a large portion of pirating takes place in China... who doesn't seem to care.
Here's an idea.... let's pick yet another topic for G8 to impossibly try to solve.
My vote is for Earthquakes... I mean... really... look how many people one earthquake killed in China.... someone should do something.....
Yar!

A nice BSOD T-Shirt. Possibly even a new scanner to go with it.
So if one of these things joins the marines would it be a Hero?
The difference between MUDs and MMORPGs is the same as the difference between a book and a movie. Sometimes nothing can beat our own imaginations.
You could literally have all the porn you wanted at your fingertips.
(just make sure it's not in a shoot'em up rob'em game)

Why is "The Big U" not in any of the 'also by' lists? And what the hell happened at the Top Hat in Missoula that was so great?
