I thought i was the only person to ever own this game...
My mother bought it for me after I went through surgery in the early 90's... i played the crap out of it. I have beat the game, but not until a couple years ago (thank god for emulation). I'm looking forward to this.
That was my 1st thought...
Ha ha, get it.... 1st post... 1st thought... yeah...
But really, how viable is this? I didn't RTFA or anything, but i don't this becoming popular at least until 2020 =)
That's great and all, a nice free way to play windows dx9 games, but is this really the solution we want?
Why do 95% of devers use DX over OpenGL? Is it easier to implement things in DX?
A lot of people here seem to think that they are actually transfering files on the RFID enabled darts... All they are doing are loading a bookmark/simlink/shortcut to a file on the network. Take the machine off the network, rfid dart works no more!
I think it's great that Team Xlink got this out so fast... It's a shame that nintendo is as propriatary as ever, I was thinking about buying a DS until I got the news...
If you guys haven't tried it... Xlink Kai works great for xbox online gaming (online Halo 2 for free...)
Happy Gaming
So it's a bios replacement chip that does nothing more then load code from onboard flash (attatched to a parrallel port)... yay.
There is already a product out there that will load shit off the memory card (no soldering required).
The only way this allows you to run pirated games is to use it to load a loader program which wil grab an ISO over network...
3D Realms / Duke Nukem Forever....

Duke Nukem Forever.... the game that never seems to really be....
They've gone through the quake engine, the quake2 engine, the unreal engine..... Although I would think they'd scrap a game after all of that (they have to pay the fees whether they end up using the engines in the final product... correct?)
BUT, it just so happens I was checking out the 3D Realms site last night, as I do every few months to see if there is any news.... nope... none...
But the way it is going, I would think it looks like there has been no development whatsoever going on with it, mabye waiting for a decent engine to liscense? COnsidering the game is in such secrecy.... This makes sense to myself.
Alright, so we have faster.... good for wireless LAN, useless for wirless net. The masses will look at it and say "yay, i'll get faster speeds if I upgrade for a huge chunk of cash"...
Better coverage.... ok, good for people who have large amounts of property/coverage needed... but when it gets a block down the road, umm... wardriving becomes a sinch...
Better security? Is it still going do be: Drive, Stop, Connect? Or will there be something better then the original WEP? BUT, inplementing better security means nothing if the people don't enable it. I think it should be enabled by default to be honest.
Am I the only one who has a problem with shopping at WalMart?
Sure, I could go buy a crap PC for a decent price, it has linux installed on it... great. Your average linux user has no use for this, as the average linux user would prefer a better / more customized approach to hardware...
Then you have your average shmuck walks in, thinks that they are getting some awsome deal. Boots up, and says "What the fuck is this?"... not seeing their standard windows UI. Probobly can't tell the difference between a exe and a linux binary package.... and thinks that he needs nortan on it.
WHICH, after reading the manual and what not... seeing "Linux", we either have people on linux message boards asking retarted questions.... or we just have more people pirating windows...
or trying to take their hardware back.
Most people who have media center pc's only have them because it looked cool at Circuit City when they were checkign out the latest HP's.... I mean, they are useful, but having a full desktop PC as my home media center is just... not viable...Even when connected to a television.
Tivo is only for recording television... correct? Pause, rewind, record live tv... i've never owned a tivo, but that's all I know they do. Sure, wifi on there to share my recordings/play my video and music collection on the main television is great...
The only thing I see here, people want High Def, everything else in the article seems useless..
But what do I know? I just use my xbox to watch my divx/xvid collection and play my mp3's on my home stereo... it's in HD, but it doesn't record... That's what my tuner card in my pc is for. Call me old fasioned, but if I have a 250gig HD, I'd rather use it for my PC + Recordings then a stand alone unit...
Oh yeah, 1st post (so it seems)

Lord of The Rings .... ON ICE!
Now that would be fun, see Aragorn fall on his ass mid battle.
