what I find interesting about these types of comments, while I am sure are in jest, truly disclose the dyslexia and hypocrisy of the Canadian public. They bitch, laugh and complain about the shape of the CF yet they are the ones who voted successive governments (primarily Liberal) in year after year who's made no attempt at hiding their disdain for the Forces as a whole and made gutting it a top priority. Chretien was quotted many times that he hated spending money on the military. Yet, here we are. Those same Canuks also bitch about the 'revolving' door justice system when again, they voted in 'hug a thug' liberal governments that clearly are and will always be soft on crime, and then complain about it. YOU GET WHAT YOU VOTE FOR. hopefully some sanity will arise from the Conservatives second win.

While I agree with the majority of your statement I would put a caution on the firearms comments. In fact a judge in Ont has ruled that firearms ownership in Canada IS A RIGHT and not a privileged. Due to our massive history as a hunting and trapping nation under the BNA act. I think you will soon see (10 years) that our firearms law will become much more like the US.

WOW! for someone who supports the communists (oops I mean the socialist...oops I mean the NDP) those are some pretty strong words from the tree hugging, put flowers in my hair and hope for the best party. I love Jack, he lives in a nice perfect world where we don't need a military, or police, or jail sentences as everyone is perfect and lovely. We don't need guns at all in fact, lets spend everything we have on trees. Won't that be nice!

He just doesn't live in the same world as the rest of the planet!

Looks like I struck a nerve, you could do worse than voting for the NDP but whoever you want to throw your vote away for is of no business of mine.

Well said, that being said, there is no real effective way to stop a torpedo, once fired a huge sitting duck like a carrier is doomed. Combined with some super fancy torps like the "super-cavitating" torpedo and your write, one shot one kill. 1 million dollar torp sinks about 20 billion in assets. The hole name of the game in carrier protection is don't let the shot off, not one. If anything gets close enough to fire a torp, or just about any modern anti-ship missile it's game over. My guess is thats what REALLY got under the US Navy with this china sub... Good old diesel - electric...the most silent sub ever made.

It is a little bit miss-represented. Quantum teleportation has NOTHING to do with matter transport; only "spin" or state transport. The issue in science is this, it appears to violate relativity. Information travels faster than light, a change in one coupled pair results in an instantaneous change in the other; cause and effect have NO measurable time difference and it appears to be independent of distance. Our next leap in science will be another branch of physics that addresses issues like this. Quantum Mechanics, Newtonian Mechanics, Relativity, XXXXXXXX PS I have a Heisenberg Compensator already, most people do...can u guess what it is?
