Seriously, I loved it--ideally, you'd be able to fly around and shoot with only the center prong (if you haven't noticed, I like scrolling shooters). I like the DualShock 2 better though--pressure sensitive buttons etc. I still haven't tried ones from newer systems, or the XBox or GameCube.
Which reminds me of something my mom asked me about. She wondered, if aspirin can prevent heart attacks, then why do they also say it is bad for you (I don't remember what bad effect she referenced)? I was having to tell her that (besides the occasional good-hearted independent study) there is business involved. I somehow doubt Florida Orange Juice commercials (e.g.) just come on because doctors make them; I'm sure there's some commercial promotion intended too. (That bitch Katrina doesn't help matters there...)
...and I told him long before. He knows by now and probably thinks differently about that now too--I remember him saying that some months ago, so his opinions may have settled during shipping.
Judging from the Zotob news, I'm extremely glad I stayed on XP, and didn't switch as he suggested when he brought a Windows 2000 CD at that time. I like jellybean Start buttons anyway.;)
Of course, if it was (disclaimer: I don't believe this, just think it may have been possible) Microsoft making the virus to get more "genuine" customers then I'll be extremely glad they are bankrupt, instead.
I use it for (mostly) Web sites (including now) and also for gaming. You are perfectly right, the VersaLink (as Westell marks it) does disconnect the wireless (and sometimes even the Ethernet) connection sometimes, especially when both are active--and sometimes when both are needed. (Playing SOCOM II while finding a "war" on Game Battles, etc.) I ued to think it was just the ISP booting us for abuse; from what you say, I believe it is That Damn Modem.
...it's too bad Windows 2000 and XP SP1 don't have the Windows Firewall that stopped the worm from getting on my PC and others. My brother prefers '2000 (visual styles bug him for reasons unknown).
...we'll start seeing more shows fade into the advertisements, as opposed to "We'll be back after these"->fade to black->show ads, to reduce the effect a bit. We may even see the ads alpha-blended in the show in a subliminal way.
Since there's already been ads within shows themselvesfor a while, I won't be shocked. Things like camera rental, host salaries and the occasional CG effect aren't bargains...right?
...the next arcade shooter won't have fighter jets?
Kick ass. I'd love to be a express train op, blasting any local-stop trains that get in the way.
Yes, I can imagine it. Raiden IV--blast militant gangs, corrupt cops and the occasional billionaire Mayor (in his giant metallic mothership, of course)...with a missle-toting flying train. And a purple proton laser. Or something.
It'll be manual. You play the role of the processor determining what fragments go which places. Plug in extra controllers (or connect to XBox Live) for extra co-op threads. Overwrite an existing file and it's Game Over. Score is based on time spent; reading from a system or DRM-protected file causes a system crash and penalizes you with at least 3 seconds.
...but I won't be scared when it's just (extremely ninja-cool R-rated) video. I'm still waiting for someone to hack audio on these calculator things.
When someone makes a T.I. grapher chirp "yeah you know they call me T.I. but You Don't Know Me" then I'll be scared of the professors. Or scratching my head in confusion.
The days of Number Munchers, Math Shop, Writer Rabbit and CrossCountry USA (sp?) were a golden age. I played all of those and more in elementary school, and I feel they made me better at computing (and math, and reading, and geography) than most around me.
I deeply miss those games. Windows is a good gaming platform now, but the Apple ][e was teh pwn at that stuff back then.
They are geared towards certain words, but sometimes they just weird out and say things like "Free slashdot.* 100% guarantee--Download your own slashdot now!" I wouldn't be surprised if GEICO was complaining when it was just faulty substitution on the ad's part.
Maybe GEICO are confusing "sale of trademarks to competitors" with horrible fill-in-the-blank results like "Get your own free GEICO on Ebay! aff."...or did I miss something? I guess the two aren't mutex...
*maybe that exact word doesn't do that, but I digress.
...so I live in Soviet Russia now?
Let them work on a safe way to attach the laser beams to their heads first.
After all, Mr. Lee forgot the most important thing to do when employee war is beginning:
TAKE OFF EVERY 'DOC' !! FOR GREAT JUSTICE.
Just for reference. fixboot fixes something else (NTLDR? first sector of booting partition? I forget...).
You mean without WinGrub? I use it with Windows XP/Fedora Core 4 and love it.
As for LILO...never tried it.
You forgot the ultimate buzz word...but then I guess "Computers" would include that.
You mean they have a fifth sense, like ESPN or something?
By "many" do you mean the single women?

Cue the Michael Douglas quotes...

That's "used", not "ued" you idiot. Hooked on Phonics will work for you.

Usually, it gets teh job done, though.

That said...PWN3D!!1

Or Edde. Or Joeeoj. Or Picoocip.
Or Notepaddapeton. Or Worddrow Wilson.
I really weep, though, for the Google fans who may still hold out hope for Scratchpaddaphctarcs. It's quite a mouthful anyway.

(Well, III was taken, so...)
There's a rather nice Defrag game from Outernet Productions.
Now that has got to be ported. NOW.

I'd love to see that implemented, actually.

You should have specified a more reasonable timeout period.
Like, about four minutes. ;)
...you're gonna see some serious shit.
...we will see spam for More Piss, More Power with BL4DD3R En14r63MeNT??2?
W3Schools' statistics (April-August 2005) seemed to forecast this slight IE rise/Firefox decline. Maybe not representative of the whole Web, but it's worth seeing.
I wonder how much MS' "Honeymonkeys" and cross-browser "security issues" can further help IE...
