Suppose you by a DVD drive for $40. You still need DVD windows software, which costs another $40. On the other hand a full DVD player goes for $40 at WalMart. Thus you will be happy to pay $5 for a pirated copy of DVD software to have a sense of fairness.

I can't post in Urdu unicode to Yahoo-Groups from my Linux box. I know some people are able to do that from some platforms. No such problem at Google Groups. On another note, now that I am used to AdBlock on FireFox, I hardly recall the Yahoo vulgar ads.

Some of the games on Linux really need too much resources. On my 2.4GHZ Celeron with Intel extreme graphics, FlightGear runs really slow. I have DRI enabled, and tuxracer runs well. I recall MS FlighSimulator ran really fast on old DOS 386's. Where does the problem lie with these modern games? Can't blame everything on openGl implementation of graphics card vendors.

The older vesion 2.0.6 could not handle Urdu (Nafees web) fonts. Abi could display individual characters, but could not join them. I have not checked this version. The KDE apps do handle these fonts well, whereas Gnome apps fail (firefox even with pango enabled). Interestingly, Gaim does a much better job, but has a problem with a few characters. For Urdu, KDE is the way to go.
