  1. Climate change is not an "absurd fantasy", you fucking liar. It's scientific fact.

  2. I know! Bookmark http://twitter.com/%5Busername.... All you gotta do is click on the little star in your browser.

  3. Every browser that I'm aware of already has bookmarks. You should try that feature. It works really well.

  4. (that's all) -- seriously removing like could jest result in lots of comments like "yes", "agree", or "ok"

Right. So? Does clicking a little "smiley face" or a "thumbs up" indicate something deeper than "yes", "agree", or "OK"?

If PayPal were the only way to send or receive money, you'd be correct. Unfortunately, AC, you're 100% incorrect.

  7. You need a "smiley face" to indicate that you "like" something? Are you functionally illiterate? Mentally challenged? A child under the age of 4?

  8. its cheap

Yeah. You're paying for it by giving Google all of your data. Nothing's free.

    That's not true:

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court."

If we didn't have a ridiculously corrupt Congress, he's be serving life behind bars for treason.

  15. Just because a majority does something doesn't make it right or good or smart. A "majority" of Americans eat at McDonald's and shop at Wal-Mart. Does that make it a good idea?

  17. Facebook isn't concerned about the "danger". They'll do whatever their advertisers want. They're an advertising platform.

What they're worried about is having to employ actual humans to read all of the shit that gets dumped onto their network. They can only make money if the whole thing is relatively automated. To accurately and effectively police the platform, they're going to need a LOT of humans to do the work, since AI can't and won't be able to do it for a very long time, more than likely. Paying humans is significantly more expensive than just running some dumb "AI" algorithms".

They don't want to get involved because it'll break their business model.

youtube is a great tool for the illiterate or functionally illiterate. People talking into a camera do so because 1. They probably couldn't write a coherent article/essay about what they're trying to say and B. their audience either couldn't or wouldn't read something like that.

It's pretty sad. I don't watch youtube videos because 99% of the time, they're really stupid and useless. I would imagine that most of the people who spend their lives on youtube probably also don't read.

We've got a very serious problem with education in most of the world, and the Internet is only exacerbating that problem.
