1. If you want to drive, you need a license
2. If you want to work you need a SS Card
3. If you want to travel overseas you need a passport.
Frankly, I don't have a problem with it, but if we're going to have it, can I PLEASE use one of my old pictures:)
I had to remove it from my system. It hijacked my browser, and I was not able to browse my companies internal websites because it over-rode our proxy. Bummer too...it worked great
I agree with you that schools are not designed to teach everything...no FYI needed. However, offering more than one viewpoint encourages thoughtful discussion, and forces the student to weigh the options. I am not saying Creationism is science...I understand it is not. But I think that giving students choices, and introducing them to the alternate point of view can be a very good thing for them.
I'm not worried about a school telling my kid that Satan is the master of the universe...to do that would be to acknowledge that God is real, because that is where Satan came from. And we all know that public schools are not about to teach anything related to God, etc.
I'll probably get flamed for this, called a troll, and given Bad Karma again, but so be it.
I want my children to learn BOTH ideas. Yes...both. I am trying to educate them, and they need to understand both ways of thinking. I was taught both options, and I went with what worked for me. More and more you're seeing "Young Earth" people (Christians who don't believe in the validity of science) saying all sorts of things about how the earth is NOT billions of years old. I have NO problem with science when they say it is. Why? Because it doesn't matter.
Christianity and Science CAN mutually exist, and exist quite nicely. Let the kids learn both ideas, and let them figure out for themselves which one works for them. The key is understanding. If they UNDERSTAND that there is more than one idea, that makes them think, and that is the real goal.
With all of the Spyware utilities out there, I am surprised that Symmantec would waste their time with this one. They ought to worry about what they are going to do with three backup products now that they own Veritas.

Dear Al,
Please refrain from claiming that you invented the Lightsaber. If you are not aware, Lightsabers are not real, and no congressional committe has ever met to discuss them. I know you have not yet said this, but I wanted to make sure you were clear on them before you did.
Love,
DNC Pres.

When I was unemployed, working on OSS projects gave me a purpose. After spending hours a day for nine months and slipping into depression, OSS gave me a new purpose, and a hope. I was keeping my skills sharp. I was contributing to the community. I had a reason to get up in the morning. OSS kept me sane when I thought I was going to go nuts.
He's so friggin' arrogant that he can't pay a sincere compliment? Guess he's too busy trying to figure out how big of a yacht he can park at his place.
OK...so are they cutting jobs, or outsourcing them

IBM to Lose 13,000 Jobs

That is what I really want to know. If they are cutting back to save $$ then that is one thing. However, if they send those jobs to India or the Philippines, that is another.
IBM has these cuts every single year. I'm wondering when they will stop cutting?
I'm going to patent the word patent. And if I can't patent that one then I'll patent Trademark. And if that one doesn't work, I'll patent Copyright. Wait..you mean that is a STUPID idea?
Not only do they have an assload of lawyers, they have done their homework. They wouldn't touch it if they weren't POSITIVE they were going to be able to use it without the risk of a lawsuit.
There are too many things that this won't do, as already pointed out in the thread. The problem I see here is how someone, somewhere will use this tool once or twice, find something and that looks like infringing code and "AH HA! THERE is the REAL offender" taking something out of context or not understanding in full the hows or whys of how the code got there in the fist place, and run screaming to whoever will listen. There are a lot of issues surrounding Open Source code and mixing it with proprietary code. While this may help, I only fear this will create more problems.
I had one...note the word HAD. I liked the fact that it ran Linux. I liked the fact that I could have a shell, I could surf the next in color, etc. However, it was pretty much useless when it came to working with the standards that my company has put down. Getting it to sync with Outlook was impossible because the software that came with it didn't work. This was only the beginning.
I gave it two months. As a small Linux-based computer, it rocks. As a practical tool for actually getting anything done away from your business desktop, don't hold your breath.
I will believe it when corporations decide to adopt this new open format. Years of PDF and.doc don't go away just becomes someone comes along with an Open Format.
I like it...I just don't think it will even be noticed by the major corporations of the world.
Having seen first-hand the crappy conditions out oceans are in after several years in the Navy I think this is a good thing. It is also a good thing because navigational hazards such as trash create all sorts of problems. Perhaps by tracking the trash they can eventually find who dumped it there.

I am going to check this out again...thanks for pointing that out!

I can buy a lot of wire for $500.00 per month!

No. The new shuttle replacement will go back to an older, more stable system: Commodore 64
Just imagine...a world without wires. Kind of like a world without Windows. Nice dream, unlikely reality

I bet we can charge twice as much as Evian gets!
