    Many years ago, I had a really bad attitude. I was lazy and resentful. Flippant and disrespectful. My boss was my friend and over beers he told me to straighten my ass out. I didn't. He put me on and EIP and I realized I had wandered too far. That was my wake up call and I straightened my attitude out. It was embarrassing but it worked for me.

    OTOH I have seen it misused too, but not on me.

    I had an 80GB SSD and a 4TB data drive. One day I found that my 80GB C; drive was full. Turns out MS was "Preparing" me for my free Windows 10 upgrade. I figured SSDs were getting cheaper so I bought a 500GB. I installed Debian on it and I'm using the old 80GB as my swap partition.

    No regrets.

    I quite PayPal in 2000. They started reporting my legal purchases, from Canada, to the FBI (something about hijacking satellite signals). My only acceptable transaction on eBay is Visa or US Post Office Money Order.

    On the other hand, I have no respect for LulzSec. I wouldn't boycott anything for them.

    More importantly MS-DOS 1.0 didn't support hard drives. That wasn't until MS-DOS 2.0.

    I go to Mexico, from AZ, a few times a year. When I cross the border I show them my Passport, buy their Visa and "Push-The-Button". I never feel racially profiled.

    This story was important to me. My wife wants to buy one of these and as long as stories like this come out I'll encourage her to buy the paper copies.

    In my house this isn't sensationalist, it's a story about DRM and Amazons growing use of it.

    I use their one click album purchase. Most albums are $9.99.I've found that if I order multiple albums within several minutes of each other that all go on one CC transaction. Then, of course, I burn my wife a copy.

    I don't know if they support the Mac. They should!

    I am not affiliated with them in any way but I use anysystem.com. The have Sun, IBM, HP and Cisco hardware (systems and parts). They also offer a 1 year warranty on what they sell.

    I am a Unix administrator. Windows is the company standard desktop. I don't have nor want administrative rights on the desktop.

    And I'm going to call bullshit on you. Stem cell research does not, in any way, kill, or support killing, babies. Irresponsible people kill babies.

    It's nice that they used this persons own stem cells but I would have supported using embryo stem cells instead of flushing them down the toilet.

    In a mainframe environment ALL of the resources, except the terminal IO and user were in the mainframe. Here he is describing a multi user environment where only the disk and boot image are shared. Big difference.
