From what I'm seeing so far, everybody's going for Flash-based websites, with no text to search around a page, and un-indexable pages, because of the embedded crap of Flash! And if it's not Flash, it's ActiveX From Hell. And on top of that mess, they still code for IE6, breaking almost every web-standard, and knocking on the gates of Hell!

All you seem to be focusing on is linking, and that's not how indexing gets done; Meta tags, content, image titles, ALT text.

Who ever wrote that page is clearly an idiot & has no clue how to design a website with a simple look & have ANY Search Engine Bot get it indexed.

"The music will all be free, and the revenue for artists will come from concerts and merchandising."
    That's a very optimistic & wrong!

Music "can" be free, but I don't think it will. The artists barely get their share as the recording company swallows the lump sum of the profits. The problem with the music industry is that, as you said, can no longer fight the "distribution" of music; but they're wrong, since they can do so by selling music CDs at cheaper prices (and they can afford that). If the media is sold at a reasonable and cheap prices, people WILL buy it.
Where I live, Virgin sells an original CD for $15-$18, and I'm not willing to pay all that! One reason because it's a bit too much and another being that I'm not sure whether the contents of this CD/album are worth buying or not.
Blank CDs are very cheap, and since I'm going to buy it, I have the right to make a backup copy of it, so they should save their money and not invest in anti-copy techniques, If a CD is sold at $3-$5, everyone can afford them (teens), and there wouldn't be a reason to NOT. They might download the tracks off the Internet, to listen to the album and see if it's worth it or not, but they will buy the CD.

  11. The Problem on Interesting Admissions From Record Industry · · Score: 1

There was an article earlier "The "Loudness War" and the Future of Music" and it clearly stated the problem with the "music" industry, which it no longer produces music, but a sum of loud sounds & faint voices. A clear example would be Evanescence's latest album "The Open Door" vs. their older albums. The background musicis just too loud and the vocals just don't "pop" like they used to.
Crappy clowns who jiggle around and dance with crummy voices, don;t deserve to be called singers, just because they can dance and they look good! It seems like EVERYONE is a singer, just as long as they have the looks!

Another problem is the lyrics; Seriously, it just boggles me whenever a song like "This is why I'm Hot", or "Chicken Noodle Soup" reaches the top 10 chart!!!! Forget all about the off-beat rhythm, forget about the foul & obscene video clips, forget about the nasty vocals, just tell me what the hell do these word mean?!! NOTHING! Go back 10 years and compare the quality of lyrics, then go back 10 more years and compare again.

What confuses me is that, there are people (teens?) who actually listen to that sort of crap!

New hardware? PLEASE! Neo uses an ARM based processor, which is the same as the iPhones and there are a few Linux kernel mods to work on ARM based processors.
If you go to their wiki page, the links state: "kernel - The Linux kernel we use, including documentation for our modifications"
Which means, that they're using a kernel that is meant to run on that specific hardware, with a few mods.

My 9500 crashes when I open the cover. The external speaker software crashes while I'm using it. The internal LCD takes 10 seconds to realize that I had opened the cover. The SD memory doesn't get read. I have to remove it & stick it back many times, before it works. The phone reboots if I receive a phone call. The phone shows full reception from a base-station, even though there is NO coverage. I'll stop here, because my blood pressure is rising.

OpenMoko has been working on this for a reasonable time, and they have released the developer & hacker versions to allow for even further debugging of abusive usage, so that when the final platform is out, it's ready for the mass-production users.

I'll gladly pay $300 and hop on their wagon, I'll report every single bug to them, to help the company produce even more stable (assuming unstability) software & OS. This is NOT what I'm willing to do for Nokia, because Nokia has moved away from its users, and got closer to the user's pockets.

Yes, the keyboard is very nice, but the crappy OS which crashes on very inconvenient times is just too much. When I pay $900 for a phone, I expect it to work for at least 3 years before crapping on me.

Nokia has moved away from reliability long time ago and got on the fancy-wagon. Their new E90 phone (new communicator) is very sexy, especially with the built-in GPS chip, but I guess I'll make a sacrifice for a phone that is willing to give what I had paid for.

I've been waiting for a very long time for a Linux phone, 3 more months won't make much of a difference.

    1) "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and his messenger"
You can be a non-believer, but a peaceful one. You won't be killed.
But for example, if a non-believer mocked God or prophet Mohammad, then those should be FOUGHT. (not killed)

    2) "then we destroy them utterly"
