The operating system you get when you buy the new Mac OS is the full version. You do not need a previous install disc to make it work or an old serial number, the entire operating system is on the disc. There are no previous operating requirements, just hardware requirements. But those hardware requirements say you have to have a mac, and all macs ship with an operating system. So your wrong and right at the same time. The full version of the operating system is $129, but you can only use it to upgrade an existing computer.

What about people who live healthy and eat healthy but have a family history of high cholesterol. My mother is one such person, she is taking all the required steps to keep her cholesterol in check, such as diet, exercise and medication, but still has a higher than average cholesterol rating. Should she have her paycheck penalized because of family history? It isn't her choice to have high cholesterol, although some people have it just because of unhealthy lifestyles. Should she be lumped in the same boat as them?

They weren't hunting for bio-fuel users. The illegal fuel they were looking for was diesel purchased for farm use. When you buy diesel for farm use you don't pay the road taxes on it, which can be around 30 cents a gallon, but you aren't supposed to use it on the road. It is a common thing around where i'm from (Nebraska farm country). They dye the farm diesel so that troopers can tell what type it is.

The GUI is to intrusive. My friend won a Mountain Dew contest and had an XBox 360 shipped to him yesterday. From what i can tell you have to deal with the so called GUI whenever you add another player. Each player has to have a profile on the XBox. When player 2 joins the gui comes out of the side of the screen and you have to select a profile. At least that was the way it was with Project Gothem Racing 3.

I was a student tech staff at my highschool. We weren't all given iBooks, but we were an all mac school. The student tech staff was given the admin password and we fixed almost all of the computer problems in our school, granted our school was tiny (200 students k-12) but we and the 1 Network Administrator/English Teacher did all the network stuff.

We used remote desktop on all our computers, but once the admin password (the same one that was used for 8 years) was leaked to the student body, anybody could get on remote desktop and control their friends computer.

That is probably one of the problems that the school was having with the iBooks. Another way they could change the password was if one of the students had an install CD. Pop in the CD, go to the file menue at the top of the installer and click on change password. Easy

When I was growing up, I got my first nintendo when I was six. It was very fun, but at that time I would rather go outside with my brother and pretend we were knights and proceed to smack the hell out of each other with sticks. The younger the kids are the easier it is to keep them off the TV or Computer.

When the kids get older encourage them to start playing some sports or to join the Boy Scouts. That is what I did. They will learn to like the outdoors in Boy Scouts and learn what Boy Scout Juice (aka. Coleman Camping Fuel) and fire do together.

If it comes down to it you could make a rule where kids have to play outside for one day and then they can play inside the next. I have a friend who had that rule in his house and he turned out to be the best damn athlete in our school.

I saw someone make a prediction of what would happen if Apple switched to x86.

If Steve Jobs stands on the stage at the Worldwide Developers Conference and announces Apple's moving to x86, Satan will rise up from the underworld and devour the souls of every innocent puppy and kitten. And then emit the fart that ends the world. This is, of course, completely unlikely to happen, as we all know Satan prefers chunky peanut butter to the souls of small animals.
